Ok ok, I know it’s not fair to have a sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and nieces who are so stinking cute, but I have to share these favorites from Eloise’s newborn session. One thing I love about newborn sessions is showing the relationship with the family. I’m opening up 2 extended-family session spots between the dates of December 21st- January 31st. Perfect for families with kids home from college or who have traveled far to see loved ones. These can be in-studio (extra fee), outdoors, or on location at your home.

This is a history of me and my camera:
I started taking pictures at a young age and remember taking a photography class in elementary school during the summer. At some point in 7-8th grade my dad started letting me use his real camera to burn through rolls of film. In the early 2000’s I built a dark room in my basement (well actually my mom’s, thanks mom!) and then it wasn’t until my 2010 tax return that I really decided to give this photography as a business thing a go! I shot my first wedding in Indonesia, and it took off from there. I was a full time professional photographer for 10 years specializing in weddings. I closed that business in 2021 to focus on my family and my walk with Jesus. Just recently I’ve began shooting portraits and I especially love photographing people I know! It’s special to connect with them and capture this moment in their lives. I also love that portraits aren’t taking over my life like weddings did! That’s all for now, I hope I get to capture you and your family this holiday season or in the new year!

It’s amazing how much can change in just 18 months!
I had the joy of photographing this beautiful family when they were engaged, getting married and when their little one was just over a year old, running around downtown Rockford as the flowers bloomed. And now, almost three, she’s grown into her own vibrant personality, exploring the world with that same curiosity and wonder—just this time with colorful autumn leaves as her backdrop. 🍂

Capturing these milestones is truly special, especially in a town as charming as Rockford, where every season brings its own magic. Thank you for letting me help preserve these moments. Here’s to many more memories to come! ”

ABOUT HISTORIA COLLECTIVE

At Historia Collective, we start our relationship with you by creating artistic and timeless memories from your first day as a family, your wedding day. Then we continue creating your legacy by documenting anniversaries, buying your first home, and bringing home little bundles of joy from the hospital, and so on.

Historia Collective was founded by our principal photographer Lisa Hammond. After shooting over 150 weddings, Lisa felt like only doing wedding photography fell short of honoring the entire family experiences and wanted to serve her couples beyond the wedding day. During the transition to Historia Collective, Lisa’s husband David joined the team as business manager and assistant photographer. David’s expertise in written communication, techy things, and organization frees up Lisa to truly connect with her clients and create works of art that fit her clients’ homes and walls. Our desire over time is to have a team of people who can go on any given popular date to capture timeless memories for you in photo and video. As we grow our company it only made sense to no longer be Lisa Hammond Photography but to assume a name that could incorporate more people. Click here to read our vision and mission statements!
