Last year they got married. This year the got to celebrate surrounded by friends and family. I really wanted to include photos in this sneak peek of all their people around them. Last year postponed a lot of our happy moments but 2021 is a year of catch-up! It was a joy to spend Saturday with and and all their people.

Yesterday would have been my stepdad Randy’s 64th birthday. In 2016 before his diagnosis, I twisted his arm a bit to make him take some nice photos with my mom in front of their newly purchased condo. Just this past week my mom needed a nice photo with no sunglasses for a scholarship they will award every year in his and her honor. These fit the bill. But it also reminded me how valuable a professional portrait can become over time. I cry a little thinking about how much we miss him and how a photograph will never replace a bear hug, a good conversation over dinner and wine, a long bike ride or watching him play with my kiddos as they grow up. If you or someone’s you know EVER smoked please get yearly scans. I was thinking a lot about the what if’s this weeks and I don’t want anyone else to have to think those. Hug your loved ones a little closer when you read this 😘
