Happy Thanksgiving from The Pit Stop..... Great Weekend ahead with SO MUCH FOOTBALL and hopefully really good family time. Only one time have I been to a Lions Thanksgiving Day Game.....and it was a beauty. DISCO STU and I were a couple years into dating in 1994 and my brother Ned was The Biggest Bills Fan in the state of Michigan. He had season tix and lived in GR. Crazy. My whole family went and in true Smith Tradition....made sure we were extremely hung over for the game starting at 12:30 vs The Bills. And this was the Bills when they were in their Superbowl Streak of 4 years in a row. So Ned gets tickets for all of us and we go.....Pontiac Silverdome.....complete with Barry, Herman Moore and Wayne Fontes. It was such an incredible family experience and one I will never forget. Our seats were 50 yard line 10 rows up (somehow Ned bamboozled someone out of those tix) and on the 2nd play of the game the Lions run this play in the video......complete with a Dick Energy "OHHH MY!!". I had binoculars on Barry on that play and was wondering why he stopped running because there was a huge hole .......oh...that's why!!!! The Dome was so incredibly loud it was electric...and did not help our hangovers....ha. The Beers did though. This Lions team is getting that same type of energy as the teams back then........hope they can keep it up. 1 playoff win in my lifetime......time to add at least another this year. Anyway.....enjoy the clip, the food, and family. Happy Thanksgiving.

Pretty Solid line up this week…..and adding to it as we make this crap up as we get closer to Thurs/Fri. Here is what we know for sure……. RIBS RIBS RIBS AND MORE RIBS. BABY BACK AWARD WINNING Those are available FRIDAY at 11 and not a second sooner (knowing us…more like 11:04). Also coming THURS AND FRIDAY…… FOWL MOUTH HOOLIGAN STEW!!! Absolute perfect weather for a hearty stew and one that is actually healthy too. We started with about 60 slow smoked Turkey Legs and we simmerd (SIMMA DOWN NOW!!) them all night last night to create the stock/base. We are adding about 40 lbs of slow smoked chicken breasts and thighs to the mix as well as the Holy Trinity in the soup/stew world……Sauteed Onions, Carrots and Celery. We'll chuck in a bunch of other veggies and potatoes etc…..and come up with a crazy good, healthy Stew with only Turkey and Chicken as the meats……keep in mind….about 100 pounds of meat in this 25 gallon pot. Takes us a couple days to make this deliciousness and will be available Thursday at 11:04 ish AM. DISCO STU is working on another Dessert for the week and we'll have our normal weekly specials like…… CORNED BEEF MICKNUGGITS ANGRY TOTS SMACK N CHEESE SMOKED TURKEY LEGS And our Normal lineup of Award Winning BBQ….. With the nights getting cooler we are not far away from wood burning season at home. For The Pit Stop it is a year round staple of our business.....just like tonight.
