The Big Red Food Truck and Brick & Ember Pizza Pizza Co will both be at the old gas station across from Walmart in Windsor Heights intermittently throughout the year starting tomorrow, Thursday April 6th from 11-1.

We'll also be there this Friday, April 7th 11-1 with Big Red where we'll be featuring the BRT Fabulous Fish Taco, the Jamaican Jerk Grilled Fish Taco and our Crispy Shrimp Taco.

In addition we're happy to announce that Brick and Ember Pizza Co will be at the Des Moines Downtown Farmers Market and will be rotating Saturday's at the Ankeny Farmers Market with The Big Red Food Truck this summer.

We're always looking for people who are a good fit to join our staff. We pay well, you'd be working with great equipment on a strong team and would be respected and appreciated for what you bring to the table.

The Big Red Food Truck brand is growing and we're needing help in more than one area. We've brought on a second truck and have also added the Brick & Ember Pizza Co which is a wood fired brick oven mobile pizza trailer.

Looking for people with a desire to cook and/or interact with a lot of people in a hectic environment, want a flexible schedule, don't like routines or the "same ole same ole" and are willing to be pushed outside of their comfort zones.

Qualified team members have opportunities to move up to the next level and either become managers for us or business partners with us if and when they want to strike out on their own. We're currently finalizing details on our first franchisee for Brick & Ember and there will be more to follow.

A long time since we've checked in with you all! We now have two trucks out on the catering circuit and rarely get a chance to rub shoulders with you, our supporters and fans who have helped make our business successful but we will be on RAGBRAI every day this week at a lunch town (except tomorrow) and we cannot wait to see you!

Today we were at Iowa Speedway getting warmed up for RAGBRAI. The Mexican Street Corn with Chipotle aioli has been a big hit and we'll be bringing that along with a rotation of the Fabulous Fish Taco, grilled fish or shrimp Jamaican jerk tacos, jumbo walking taco boat, Philly cheesesteak basket, beef and lamb gyro, mozzarella sticks and apple cobbler dessert pizza.

So excited to be taking a detour from the catering circuit and getting back to the streets for a little bit feeding our friends and fans.

Hello! A long time since my last post and we've missed seeing many of you out on the streets. In recent months we've added a second Big Red truck to the fleet and have mainly been doing caterings but this week we're parking the trucks and are on our trailer, The Cluck'n Coop this week at the Iowa State Fair.

Stop by to say hello; take a picture with Randy the Rooster, try some tasty egg treats and vote for us if you think we're worthy of winning top honors over the other two finalists this year for Best New Fair Food.

It's the last night for the free food program that we've been involved with through the City and the Iowa Shelter Services. We'll be at the Southside YMCA from 5-6'ish tonight (Monday) and we hope to see you there!

In the last few months through this program we've served well over 10,000 people in need; the majority of them children and we could not be more grateful for the opportunity.

Thank you to the City and the Iowa Shelter Services for trusting us to represent you and Des Moines to the community. We believe that the need is still there and will be looking for ways to continue doing what we've been doing in giving away free food to those struggling to put food on their family's table.

Hello Big Red Food Truck Fans and Family! Just a quick announcement and request for you all. The recent project we began with Feed DSM and the Central Iowa Shelter and Services where we're going into communities and providing meals for those who are struggling in these current times has taken off and will be expanding.

Between Big Red and Hotsy Totsy we're looking to add at least 8 new locations weekly for breakfast, lunch or supper. We're wanting to go even deeper into Des Moines neighborhoods that have been impacted the most severely and are looking to set up in local parks, school parking lots, church parking lots, shelters, low income apartment complexes, etc.

Ideally I'm asking for contacts to reach local community leaders, apartment managers, church leaders, etc. specifically in Des Moines to coordinate with so they can get the word out if and when we do come.
