Marigolds are a central part of the Day of the Dead (Día de los Mu***os) celebration and hold many symbolic meanings. Marigolds are believed to help the spirits of the dead find their way home to their families. Their strong scent and bright colors are thought to attract the souls to the altars, or ofrendas, where they are placed. Marigolds symbolize the brevity of life and the circle of life.
