Florist Answered Questions!
Do I need to use flower food?
Flower food is not required, but can extend the vase life of your flower arrangement. âFoodâ is a bit of a misnomer. This chemical is more about preventing bacteria in the water than providing nutrients to the flower. Using fresh, clean water is the best way to keep these flowers looking beautiful.

Florist Answered Questions!
How often should I change the water?
Clean water is key to keeping your flowers fresh for as long as possible. Itâs best to change the water in your arrangement every 2 to 3 days. This will keep bacteria at bay and help the flowers stay hydrated.
Florist Answered Questions!
What if some flowers in my arrangement begin to wilt?
Wilting is a natural process for cut flowers. When we remove the beautiful bloom from its root system, we reduce its ability to access water and nutrients. Some flowers and greens will wilt faster than others in an arrangement. You can extend the life of your cut flowers by following the other tips I share on the Florist Answered Questions page. When the inevitable happens, and part of the arrangement begins to wilt, simply remove the parts that are wilting. Removing the wilted stem will allow the other blooms to continue to shine as long as possible.

A story about Weiss the Garden Dog>>>
Roger and I have the 2 best dogs ever. Iâve been taking them both to training, and Weiss has been going for a little over a year. A big part of the training is for the dog to gain confidence and learn to trust their owner. Most of the time, I know more than Weiss does. She doesnât know that eating an entire chicken will make her throw up. She canât see if there is something dangerous on the trail ahead. But I know these things, and her training is helping her to trust when I make decisions for her.
This training is a huge part of why she is so good at the Farmerâs Market!
