This is my 9th year being involved in the mission with Reelin' For Research to land a cure for cancer-specifically in children.

I have been to the cancer wing of the children's hospital at UNC Children's - North Carolina Children's Hospital (which is now called the Reelin For Research Clinic) a dozen times and I have seen first hand how incredible the care is. I leave there every time feeling inspired, not only because of all the good that is happening there because of our efforts but mainly because these kids are so resilient. I have never heard one of them complain, not once.

BUT....

they are struggling.

And we can help.

Having gone thru cancer with wife, the most eye opening thing for me was how much more advanced treatment is. Twenty years ago they would have just given her chemo. Today the treatment is less severe in many cases and it causes less harm to the body.

We all want to land a cure and I believe we will see it in our lifetime BUT until then, finding improvements in the treatment is the next best thing.

Sorry I ask this every year but until there is a cure I will continue to support this cause and hope you will too.
