On January 31, we celebrated North Carolina Senator Gladys A. Robinson at the February One 65th Anniversary breakfast! She received the 2025 Human Rights Medal for her incredible work breaking barriers and advocating for underserved communities.

We’re proud to honor her and the legacy of the A&T Four, who changed history with their 1960 sit-in at Woolworth’s.

It was a day filled with reflection, recognition and pride as we honored the unsung heroes of the Civil Rights Movement and celebrated our shared commitment to justice and equality.

Join us tomorrow as North Carolina A&T State University commemorates the 65th anniversary of the A&T Four sit-in with a special celebration. The theme, ‘Perseverance: The Power of an Ageless Revolution,’ reminds us of the courage and impact of the 1960 sit-in at Woolworth's.

Kick off the day with the annual breakfast and program at 7 a.m. here at the Alumni-Foundation Event Center, where we’ll honor unsung heroes and award the 2025 Human Rights Medal.
