In 2014 I had the desire to transition from being a real estate broker to becoming a photographer. I put together a website and started doing photos of the two things I understood. Real estate and politics. Starting from zero and showing up political events uninvited and unpaid landed me my first gig (unpaid, but at least invited.) Howard Coble’s retirement party. Where I was dared to do a selfie with Governor McCrory while he was eating dinner. That event in March led to me getting the gig for the NCGOP convention in June. A paid gig. I was in the right place at the right time and took a photo of Thom and Susan Tillis when he formally accepted the GOP nomination for US Senate. By Jan 2015 I had the privilege of doing the photos of the US Senate swearing in. As I get ready to begin my 10th year I am so thankful for the people that gave me a chance in 2014. The doors opened for my family and me. The gracious way people have included us in their lives. There is no end to the people to thank. that first year I had no bigger boosters than the Tillis family and Team Tillis. Looking forward to the next 10 and the chance to capture your memories of a lifetime. #2024
