I have been working on a new collection, entitled :
“Twilight: A Journey Through the Forgotten”

In the fleeting moments between darkness and light, where shadows dance and silence echoes, lies the realm of "Twilight." This evocative photographic series takes viewers on a captivating journey through abandoned structures, immortalizing their haunting beauty in the soft, ethereal glow of dusk and dawn.

Each image within the Twilight series is a visual symphony, blending the melancholic allure of forgotten spaces with the mysterious ambiance of the twilight hours.

The interplay of light and shadow breathes new life into these decaying edifices, imbuing them with a sense of enchantment and poignancy.

The stillness of the night or the quiet awakening of morning enhances the sense of solitude, inviting contemplation of the stories these abandoned spaces hold.

You will be able to explore all 10 pieces in the near future either online or at a gallery showing.

Within the Twilight collection, you'll encounter scenes of derelict factories, forsaken homes, and ghostly ruins, each whispering tales of lives once lived and dreams long since abandoned.

The evocative lighting and atmospheric compositions draw you into a world where time stands still, and the past lingers in the quiet corners of our modern landscape.

The Twilight series is a testament to the power of photography to evoke emotion and spark the imagination.

Through the lens of the camera, we are granted a fleeting glimpse into the hidden beauty of the forgotten, challenging us to find inspiration in the most unexpected of places.

My overall goal in the series will be to experience the allure of Twilight, and let the whispers of the past stir the onlookers soul.
I am currently looking for another model to complete three of these photos.

I have not had an opportunity to photograph anything for Halloween this year in lou of the hurricane but I am looking forward to a Gothic Renaissance photo shoot this week.
I wanted to share a few of these photos from a photo shoot that I did last year with Sybil the owner of White Knight Cosplay-
This has been by far one of my favorite photo shoots.
Of course made possible by this talented artist-Sybil who is such a treasure-a good friend and a visionary.
All I had to do was send her a photo of vision that I had and the rest is history.
So on this Monday, I wanted to share a few photos and give a shout out to one of my favorite artist!

Many people do not know that I studied anthropology in college.

Anthropologists are social scientists who study human beings and their behavior, culture, and societies throughout history. Their work involves researching and analyzing various aspects of humanity, including our biology, cultural practices, languages, and social structures.

Here are some of the key responsibilities and tasks that anthropologists perform:

*Research andfieldwork:
Anthropologists conduct fieldwork to gather data through participant observation, interviews, surveys, and other research methods. They may spend extended periods living among the communities they are studying to gain a deeper understanding of their culture and customs.

*Data analysis:
Anthropologists analyze the data collected during their research to identify patterns, trends, and relationships that help them better understand human behavior, cultural practices, and social structures.

*Writing and presenting findings:
Anthropologists publish their research findings in academic journals, books, and other publications. They also present their work at conferences and workshops to share their knowledge with other researchers and the public.

*Teaching:
Many anthropologists work in academic settings, such as universities and colleges, where they teach students about anthropology and related subjects.

*Consulting:
Some anthropologists work as consultants, providing their expertise to organizations and businesses to help them better understand and engage with diverse communities and cultures.

Anthropologists play a vital role in expanding our understanding of humanity and fostering greater appreciation for the rich diversity of human cultures and societies. Meet Nathan he is a friend of mine from Virginia, who for the past few years has been diving more deeply into his Native American lineage.

We have been working on a project together that started with Nathan’s deep desire to having a deeper connection with his Native American heritage.

When you ask someone about their family lineage, you are essentially inquiring about their ancestry or their family history.
Family lineage refers to the direct line of descent from one's ancestors, tracing back through several generations. It is a way to explore one's heritage, cultural background, and genetic connections to previous generations.

Asking about family lineage may involve questions about a person's ethnic background, the geographical origins of their ancestors, and any significant historical events or cultural traditions that have shaped their family's identity. In some cultures, family lineage is closely tied to social status, inheritance rights, or even religious practices.

By learning about someone's family lineage, you can gain a deeper understanding of their personal identity and the cultural and historical forces that have influenced their life. Additionally, exploring one's family lineage can provide valuable insight into the shared experiences of a community or society over time.

It's important to approach discussions about family lineage with sensitivity and respect, as these conversations may touch upon deeply personal and emotional aspects of an individual life.

I am delighted to share that a selection of my photographs will be showcased in a gallery exhibition come spring next year.
The collection will feature a mix of past and present portraiture work, including images from upcoming photoshoots, carefully curated to showcase my artistic evolution and range.

As I prepare myself to do a photo shoot of one of my all-time favorite authors and illustrators Beatrice Potter, I thought it would be really cool to start, sharing some information about her.

At first like to say that she indeed is a true icon in children’s literature.
Here are some key facts about her life and career:

- Beatrix Potter was born in London, England on July 28, 1866.

- She was a gifted artist and writer, and created some of the most beloved characters in children's literature, including Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddle-Duck, and Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle.

- Potter's books were known for their beautiful illustrations, which she often based on her own observations of animals and nature.

- In addition to her writing and illustrating, Potter was also a passionate conservationist and worked to preserve the English countryside.

- Potter's books continue to be popular today, and her legacy as a children's author and illustrator is widely celebrated.

If you're interested in learning more about Beatrix Potter, I'd recommend checking out some of her books or visiting the Beatrix Potter Gallery in the Lake District, England, where you can see original illustrations and learn more about her life and work.

First, I would like to thank Carolina Spark Magazine & Sybil Todd for allowing me to bring to life the vision I had to honor my dad‘s memory and the deep influence that he had on my life, especially in the area of knowing how to deal with loss.

How women deal with loss in their lives became a focus of mine shortly after losing my dad to cancer.

I have dealt with loss in other areas of my life, but the loss of a parent was a new terrain that I had to learn to navigate.

This led me down a path of remembrance and creativity.
