Dahlia A Florist will be closed July 1st-7th.

Summer is in full swing and we will be closed for a week so that we have plenty of time to properly decorate the Airstream before taking off on a Bridgerton style Glamping Adventure….just kidding…no glamping for us! But we hope you are getting to go on some fun adventures this summer. Let us know if your camper needs a glow up….just not July 1st-7th 😉 We will see you back on July 8th!

Dear Dahlia: Father’s Day is coming up and I don’t know what to do. My wife wants to plan a family day that involves taking the kids to the park AND she’s including my in laws! I really just want to go fishing and I would even include my father-in-law because I know I can count on him for a Yeti full of beer. What do I do? —Fish or Family in SC

Dear Fish or Family: First of all, Happy Father’s Day! While we understand that you should get to spend your day as you would like, you don’t want to disappoint your wife and kids. You sound like a good man so we are going to help you out. Send your wife flowers from Dahlia A Florist…heck, send one to your mother-in-law as well! Tell your wife you are taking your father-in-law with you on the fishing trip. She will be so ecstatic over the flowers she will be thrilled for you to go fishing! Bonus points if you tell her you will take the kids out for ice cream when you get back. Happy Fishing!

There are days that we, here at Dahlia, feel like we are a cross between a priest and a bartender. Customers tell us their entire life story while ordering a flower arrangement. Not that we are complaining. No! We like to think that we give these lost souls a shimmer of hope in the Storm of Life. From time to time we are asked for advice to address these challenges. So…we decided to start an old fashioned advice column…we hope you enjoy!

Dear Dahlia: School has been out for one whole week. The kiddos are already bored and the Wife is pulling her hair out. What do you suggest? —Praying for August on Augusta

Dear Praying: Summer break is sometimes a challenge for parents. Come up with a plan of activities for the kids to stay busy and out of their Mother’s hair. Pay them a penny for every Japanese beetle they pull off the shrubbery in the backyard. It worked for my Dad. But the first thing to do is to send your wife some bright, beautiful flowers from Dahlia! Let her know that you are always with her in spirit from the Third Tee at the Country Club, if not in person. And maybe help with a few dirty dishes, if you have time. If not, might I suggest our new Flower Subscription service that will have your floral needs covered until school goes back!
