Yesterday afternoon some members of the Christ Church Singers went to the home of Daphney Finney and sang some Carols to her.
Daphney sang in the choir for around 20 years, and rang bells for 10 years. She even sang with us on our trip to Wells Cathedral in 2004!

Her grandson, Alan Crabtree, grew up in the boys choir. He is the man in the far right. Hard to believe that Daphney is 99 years young!!
She sang her part in the Carols and never missed a beat. If she had the music, I’m sure she would have given the descant a try, too. A Jolly time was had by all!!

Singers were: Claudia Gordon, Deb Smith, Susan Morris, Lucinda Harriss, Jeff Boyd, Isabelle Abbasi, Edward Morris, Daphney Finney (next to Deb), Delly Ozanne, Annie Drake, Alan Crabtree, and Carl Gage (yellow jacket in the front,)

Come to our Christmas Tree Lighting on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 6 pm at Christ Church Greenwich, 254 East Putnam Ave., Greenwich, CT. Hot cocoa, cider and Christmas cookies!

We bagged, sorted, and packed 20,000 meals at our Packathon yesterday for global hunger relief. What a great day with 250 people doing what God asks of us all. Thank you to everyone who participated!

Welcome to Christ Church Greenwich!

We are a lively community of worship, celebration, learning, service, and fellowship. Established as a parish in 1749, we are one of New England’s oldest and largest Episcopal churches. We provide a spirit-filled historic sacred space for baptisms, weddings, events, and memorial services in Greenwich and the vicinity, and offer a myriad of opportunities to nourish and inspire you and your family on your spiritual journey.

We offer worship services, outreach ministries, concerts, educational programs, counselling, grants, and facilities to benefit the greater Greenwich community. We currently host over 5,500 meetings a year and house many community service programs, including AA and Neighbor to Neighbor.

We are a diverse, welcoming, and inclusive community of over 870 households who call our church their spiritual home. We are highly visible in our community by our central location, beautiful historic campus, large traditional sanctuary, strong music program and, most importantly, our vibrant, dedicated clergy, staff, and involved parishioners. Our community is a wonderful source of comfort in times of pastoral need. We learn, worship, and celebrate together and we are deeply committed to embracing the needs of others in the community and around the world.

The mission of Christ Church Greenwich is to seek and serve God in all persons, and to provide spiritual nourishment for all who journey to find a sacred home for worship, personal growth, service and community.
