Meet the Vendor: Sawyer Creek Farm - NEW VENDOR
I have continued and expanded my fiber art business selling at the Canton NY farmers’ market on Fridays and the Harrisville NY market on Saturdays. I have added in many other events including the CNY Fiber Festival in Bouckville NY in early June and in many Adirondack locations. I still have many flower gardens and am continually making more to make grass-cutting easier. I always have a large organic vegetable garden, keeping most of the produce to eat, share with the family,
and keep in the freezer for the winter. I sell the surplus at the markets, but that is not the mainstay of my business plan. My fiber business now consists of many facets. I spin about 2 fleeces each summer (saved from my old Finnsheep fleeces) and sell the completed yarn at the markets. I ship out some of my fleeces to be spun at commercial mills and I get my own fiber back as mill-spun yarn that I sell. I am constantly knitting with my stash of purchased yarn to make garments to sell. I have added goat’s milk soap to my product line and I even knit little sheep heads to put soap into to make kids soap/washcloths. I now have a large product line of shawls, sweaters, scarves, hats, mittens, and more. I am constantly planning new items to knit, some from purchased patterns and some I design myself. I do take on custom work with a 50% deposit paid. I will even spin dog hair! I make a blend of
dog hair and sheep’s wool of matching color for a stronger yarn

Meet the Vendor: Sassy Black Yarns
My name is Lakisher Hurst, owner of Sassy Black Yarns. As an avid
crocheter, I see the world through yarn-tinted spectacles. I started
Sassy Black Yarns in my kitchen with a simple desire to create a small
selection of hand-dyed yarns that would offer people beautiful color
alternatives with sassy names & colors. The definition of sassy is
someone or something that is lively, bold and a little feisty. Sassy
Black Yarns specializes in bold, fresh colors of hand dyed yarns for
knitters and crocheters alike. Through my yarns I aim to give other
makers more colorway and base options for them to bring their next
project to life.

Meet the Vendor: Quill & Quiver Fiber is a yarn company founded by two friends with a shared love of history, craft, and story. We offer small batches of hand-dyed yarn in color palettes inspired by traditional crafts and the people who keep these heritage skills alive. We offer full-sized skeins and coordinating mini skein sets called Story Collections. Our yarn bases are thoughtfully sourced from family-run mills in the U.S. that seek to uphold and support the continuation of the wool industry. Quill & Quiver Fiber yarns are hand-dyed by Christy in her 150-year-old barn studio in Vermont's Champlain Valley. Our cross-country venture is completed by Gretchen, who packs and ships orders from her home studio in the Sierra Foothills in Northern California.
