Job Description
The Curtis Ballroom at the Landmark and Comedy Works South is looking to hire an Event Coordinator. We execute many different types of events, including weddings, corporate meetings, birthday parties, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, private dining, and cocktail parties. We are looking for someone that is hardworking, dedicated and has a great, fun attitude.

The position is full-time, around 40 hours per week, hourly pay with opportunity for advancement. Schedules vary week-to-week, depending on what events are booked. Candidate must have a flexible schedule as events mostly occur early mornings, evenings, holidays, and weekends.

Daily Responsibilities:

Touring and selling the facility
Ordering linen, food, sundry, liquor, etc. based on event needs
Maintaining good relationships with clientele
Creating event proposals and menus
Answering the phone
Email correspondence
Selling group tickets for the Comedy Works Showroom
Executing tastings with clients
Managing events from start to finish
Managing event staff and vendors
Taking deposits and payment for events
Qualifications:

Must have food and beverage experience, catering experience preferred
BS in Hospitality, Event Management or related field or equivalent experience
Must be VERY detail oriented
Strong ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to adapt to changing policies and client needs
Must be 21 years or older
Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
Must have reliable transportation
Interest or experience with website design and social media marketing preferred
Up-to-date with current event trends
Quick learner and self-motivated and ability to be self-accountable
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ability to work a flexible work schedule
Excellent customer service and communication skills required
Strong written and verbal skills are required
Ability to explain policies and details precisely and logically
Ability to keep up with a fast-paced, high-stress work environment
Professional demeanor
Good sense of urgency while working
Must have a positive attitude and a good sense of humor!
Job Type: Full-time
