24 YEARS AGO TODAY…. We said “I do” to each other in Negril, Jamaica.
It was a beautiful, intimate wedding with just us, the Jamaican Priest and 2 witnesses from the resort.
That week was magical!

It was a perfect day filled with hair and makeup, photos, cake, champagne and partying with other newlyweds that night at a big party.

Happy Anniversary to Us!
Next year is 25! And as fast as life is moving it will be here before we know it.

Question from a client yesterday:

“Do I have to cut my cake with a big production? Can we just do it quickly as soon as I enter the reception, like walk to a corner.. chop chop and be done?”
😝 😆 🎂

ABSOLUTELY! MANY couples are opting to cut the cake as soon as they enter the reception.
This actually allows catering to take the cake, cut & plate it so it’s ready for guests at the end of dinner or whenever the couple chooses to have it served.

It also allows for more time to just ENJOY the reception.
It can take several minutes…. SEVERAL to wrangle guests back in from the bar or outside to watch you cut the cake, taking away from PARTY TIME!

Many are also doing their first dance upon entering the reception, dancing to Just half the song… enough for photo or video. This has been a huge trend and couples are loving it!

it allows for a more relaxed, casual reception filled with more time to mingle with guests, dance and enjoy an atmosphere that is less structured.

Thats been a huge request the last few years……more casual and relaxed…. Less structure! 😊

The questions you SHOULD be asking ANY Vendor you are considering hiring:

1. How long have you been in business?
2. Do you have a contract?
3. What is your cancellation policy?
4. Are you an insured business?
5. Do you have proper backup coverage in case you become ill or have an emergency?
6. Do you have travel fee's?
7. How much is the deposit? (NEVER PAY IN FULL)
8. Where can I see reviews? What is your website? Social media?
9. Have you ever had a DIFFERENT Business name and if so why did you change it? (Scammers will frequently change names to avoid being caught)
10. How many meetings will we have in the upcoming months?

There are SO many other important questions but these are the ones you should ALWAYS ask of every vendor.

NEVER Pay a DIME without a SOLID Contract in place NOR pay in full up front UNLESS you have a solid contract and the event is so close that payment in full is required, BUT, again, a contract needs to be in place or it's a NO GO! Period! No exceptions.

If they have no website, no reviews, no insurance? Go elsewhere.
This is your WEDDING DAY, not a back yard family get together.
