We're dusting off the flower shears to help raise money for the Gresham Historical Society!

Join Cassie for a special Flower Crown Workshop over Mother’s Day weekend — all proceeds go directly to the museum to support their fundraising efforts.

Every ticket includes materials and instruction for one flower crown, plus light refreshments + drinks. No experience required and all tools + materials are included. Just come enjoy spring flowers and tasty treats while gathered with friends and family!

Took time to reflect on my time at Rose Story Farm these past few days & am amazed by the immense generosity of Dani at and Felicia of . These women worked tirelessly to curate a rose focused workshop with help from , , , , , and .

was a meeting place for flower focused, passion driven, rose loving people. It was encouraging, warm, and full of critical knowledge we each can share to continue the story of the rose. I'd love to share what I learned with you.

Motel flowers from the archives featuring stubborn majolicas that just would N O T open

I'm compiling a list of all the cut flower care tips : think hot flame to the end of poppy stems so they won't wilt, hammering lilac stems to absorb water, and paper bags over peonies to get them to open. I've collected tricks along my floral journey, and I know others have too! Imagine a resource to reference a specific flower variety and it's best conditioning care for longevity and beauty!

I feel like I was given an extra serving of luck this year, so many blessings are coming my way. I'm so lucky to be attending The Gathering Rose with and plus and wonderful other creatives.

I haven't dove into the process of farming/growing in a while now, but have felt myself being drawn back to where my flower love began. Here's to growing & growing.

The Flower Sessions : Fall Workshop launched today! Collaborating with two of my greatest flower friends for this one day intensive gets me pumped. During our site visit this afternoon, hearing Alisha + Heather share their vision for the space, and bounce ideas back and forth, everything came to life! In just one month, students will be showered in community, knowledge, and treats! first you have to pick your flowers. make sure you choose a range of shapes and sizes to create depth and interest. then you have to consider color, and blending tones. use your color wheel - do you want to make it monochromatic? maybe analogous or complimentary? now that we have our colors down, what flowers are 1) in season 2) looking fresh 3) matching our vibe for design. connect with your farmers and reps to make your recipe come to life! prep those flowers, strip those stems, trim + hydrate. keep cool for long lasting blooms. pack up flowers and mechanics safely and securely so nothing breaks or god forbid wilts. arrive on site and asses the situation. you might have had a plan, but chances are it won't work. be adaptable, and figure it out as you go. most likely, you'll use chicken wire, zip ties, fishing line, and tape. once you've set up your mechanics, you are tasked with designing so your creations do not show or even allude to their existence. your design needs to feel effortless, natural, and organic. begin with shape, working your way through the principles of texture and color. ensure security in your designs. take a step back. marvel at your creations. you've just successfully rendered floral installation.

I've been listening to a newer TED podcast called worklife with Adam Grant. One episode discussed those who separate their work life, and those who integrate it into their personal lives. research showed those who integrate and blur the lines of work and life are happier, and view work less as a task. One big downside however, is they have a hard time not working. They are happier because they LOVE their work, and are passionate about the things that they do. But how ironic you in turn can't stop because you haven't drawn any clear lines? I love my job - there isn't much else I want to do other than make beautiful flowers and care for sweet plants. My life and work are completely integrated. However, I too struggle with finding time for non-work activities. It's a balance I'm looking to strike, but in the meantime I'm just going to keep listening to TED talks while prepping flowers, and maybe I'll learn more!
