On this National Day of Mourning, with flags flying at half-staff, The War Memorial remembers the life of former U.S. President and Navy Veteran Jimmy Carter. At our Vet-To-Vet gathering this morning, a moment of silence was held for the nation's longest living president. Carter passed away on Dec. 29 at the age of 100.

Moments ago, an Oath of Enlistment ceremony took place at The War Memorial for Grace Govier-Laparl. The University Liggett School graduate is now part of the U.S. Air Force Reserve. Family members and Air Force Reserve Line Recruiter Staff Sgt. Elliott Bullis were on hand for the ceremony.
