Grove Area Chamber of Commerce announces Hefner as Christmas Parade Marshal

The Grove Area Chamber of Commerce (GACC) is pleased to announce Cindy Hefner as the 2024 GACC Christmas Parade Grand Marshal. The Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, December 14th at 6 p.m. The theme for this year’s parade is "Merry & Bright; a Season of Lights". The theme is in honor of the Ron Lay Light Up Downtown project.

The parade route will begin on Abby Lane, which is directly to the south of Harps, head down Main Street to 3rd Street and conclude at Cheapo Depo. Families can choose any location along the route to experience a perfect view enjoying familiar holiday songs, colorful floats, marching bands and much more.

“We are so pleased to have Cindy Hefner as our Grand Marshal this year. Cindy was recently honored as the GACC Impact Award Winner at our annual awards gala. We are grateful for her commitment to the lake region and the leadership and dedication that she continues to share with many organizations,” stated GACC Executive Vice President Connie King.

Hefner was born and raised in Claremore, Oklahoma and currently resides in Grove. She is employed by Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative. She has been a member of the Grove Rotary since 2006 and has also held chamber leadership positions in Adair, Chelsea, Grove, Vinita, & South Grand Lake.

There is a $10 fee per entry for the parade. There will be two categories for awards. Participants can choose the best use of lights or best theme during registration.

KGVE and the GACC will team up to provide a live broadcast of the parade with commentary directly in front of the Community Center.

Grove Area Chamber of Commerce Board Members and Ambassadors will be on hand to help stage the parade this year.
