Offering a variety of foods, especially fruits and vegetables daily to our children will create a foundation for their future eating habits and good health. Here are some tips:
-Eat a variety of different foods daily, include fruits and veggies.
-eat a rainbow of colors in the diet ie: orange carrots and potatoes, red/sweet peppers, dark green broccoli and spinach etc.
-use whole grain breads instead of refined white breads
-limited added sugars in the diet and in beverages, especially soda and candy
-use lean sources of protein such as chicken, fish, beef, tofu, egg and cheese
-use reduced fat milk such as 1 or 2% milk and low sugar yogurts
-hydrate with water
