Without a specific reopening date from the governor’s office to rely on, Connecticut couples are canceling weddings and other festive occasions at an alarming rate, adding further devastation to a private event industry that’s been pummeled by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The RIverhouse lost one of our family members this past week. Chef John Thompson passed away Monday at home. While he was battling with health issues over the past year and a half we thought he was in a better place and getting back on track.

Best way to sum up Chef John is not only was his food some of the best wedding Cuisine you would find he could make a person that was crying.......begin to laugh. A simple, gentle man who had a way of making people feel comfortable because he was ALWAYS himself.
While he retired in 2019 he will always be part of our family.
Rest easy Chef, we will always keep a spot open for you at the stove! We love ya and are going to miss you each and everyday!!!!
