The dust has settled for a few weeks and we are starting to prep for next season!

Sincere thanks for a great year friends!

Books are open for 25/26 season, we’ve already taken a number of bookings for field hunts and public tower hunt dates will be forthcoming.

Hey all, heres an update from Leon himself!!!!

I just wanna take a minute and thank all my friends and family that came out in support of me! If you don’t know, I had a severe aortic separation last Wednesday morning while getting started for work! I also had a few complications during a 61/2 hour operation! I am still trying to get the chance to go home but I had an amazing nursing staff that wiped my ass and cleaned my junk daily! My Heart surgeon I only met for about 20 minutes, a week later but I owe that guy some sushi whenever I get back to my feet! I wanna thank Jack Barr and Jair Barr for everything you guys did to make sure I got to see my kid again! I have a lot of people to thank but one of them being out of the equation probably results in a much different outcome! I hope as my journey continues, that I can find the time to thank each and every one of the people that played a role in saving my life! It’s good to know that I have friends that will drop anything and make sure you are well! To Jair and Jack, there’s absolutely no way I could repay you guys for the things you’ve done for me but just know, it’s absolutely appreciated! Now I endure the rebuild of my lifetime and try to get myself back into better shape and better health

Attention friends: Many of you that have hunted the farm have crossed paths with Leon who does everything from setting and cleaning birds to running dogs and splitting wood to keep the woodstove rolling and then some! Leon had to have an emergency heart surgery yesterday and is still not out of the woods. Please keep him in your thoughts and lift him up in prayer ❤️

Time is such a valuable resource. It’s been a great weekend of friends, family, and forever memories.

“ Remember that time” is such a strong phrase. 20 years from now we hope folks are able to look at a picture and hold onto that memory with dad or pap, an uncle or aunt, cousin or friend.

The birds are such a small part of this. It’s the dogs, time spent, memories made, a moment shared.

Chasing those sunsets until our season closes! Great groups, heres a glimpse of some of the action. We had guests spend time with us from southern WV and a few that traded in their shorts for shotguns, as they were traveling through from Tampa FL.

Availability is weekdays, tower hunts, and some possible small evening hunts when time springs forward (March 9)

Also taking names for a weekend alternate list if we have a cancellation.

Few things are greater for us than watching kids get to hunt over dogs for the first time. Especially when it’s making memories with Pappy. This young man could hold his own with his .410 over and under.

This is good cold morning for helpful information. Some of the same questions seem to resurface so we hope this helps.

1. Our season is Oct 1 to April 1 ( or we run out of birds). We are busy all season , however once people stop catching deers, our weekends from Jan on lock down fast. We are already taking October/ November bookings for 25/26 season.

2. A hunt package is not a per person cost. If you book a hunt for 4, the cost is split 4 ways. Example, a 15 chukar hunt 290.00 + Dog/guide 75.00 = 365.00 (divided by 4) 91.25 a hunter not including any tip which we truly appreciate.

3. Tower hunts ARE NOT standing in a tower shooting at birds. Some people are not familiar with European hunts, but in a nutshell, they were reserved for very wealthy people in Europe, and captured birds were released from the tower into the field where standers have an opportunity to shoot. The shooters are roughly 70 yards from the tower. Some people feel like this may not be a challenge, but rest assured angle, land elevation, height, distance, a bird flying roughly 40 mph, all are factors. Anyone that’s done a tower hunt can tell you it is a challenge. However, it allows a lot of hunters who just can’t get around anymore, or have a physical limitation a chance to get in the game. It’s also a great way to hone your shooting skills. If you were somebody who hunts ducks or geese, and/or sporting clays. an average day as you go through 75- 100 rounds.
