Great article about Fern Hobbs in the Aug. 30th Hell's Canyon Journal. Here, from our 2014 festival, are selections from the world premiere of Blaise Ferrandino's Cantata "Fern Hobbs and the Land of the Setting Sun. This will give you "the rest of the story," what she considered her most important work. Enjoy and share. The "aria" is the text of a letter home similar to many Fern wrote for wounded and dying soldiers. Great combination of the "Halfway Song" by the kids over a noble melody every Oregonian ought to know comes toward the end.
