Bridal Shower 101: A bridal shower is a fantastic way to officially celebrate a bride-to-be.

👰‍♀️ What happens at a bridal shower?
Traditionally, a bridal shower is an all-female celebration for the bride, her friends/bridesmaids, and close female relatives from both sides of the family. Activities in a bridal shower timeline usually include a mix of eating, playing games, and time for guests to mingle with each other. The main event is when you shower and spoil the bride.

👰‍♀️ Who plans a bridal shower?
Traditionally, the maid of honor plans the party with help from the bridesmaids. BUT traditions are not rules! As long as the bride is on board, any close friend or family member can plan the shower — though the maid of honor is expected to lead the way 😜.

👰‍♀️ How much does a bridal shower cost?
As the host, it’s up to you. Set a budget to include your major elements: invitations, food, decor, favors, and a gift for the bride. It can be as glamorous and fabulous as you want it, or a simple home setup for the bride-to-be. This is where you need to know your bride and see what she like.

👰‍♀️ Who gets invited to a bridal shower?
Showers are generally reserved for the bride’s closest friends and relatives. And here’s a rare rule I advise you not to break: only guests invited to the wedding should be invited to the shower. You can go about putting together a guest list one of two ways:
1: Ask the bride to create a guest list
2: Ask the bride to share the entire wedding guest list and you can create it from there.

👰‍♀️ Where to have a bridal shower?
Traditionally, the shower is held in one of the hosts home, but it can be anywhere. The benefit of a home is there is often less to set up and you’ve got a kitchen to work with. But depending on your budget, theme, and time of day, you can host at a park, a restaurant, an event space, a brewery, a winery — the possibilities are ENDLESS!

👰‍♀️ When to send bridal shower invitations?
It’s good to plan the bridal shower 4-12 weeks before the wedding. Make sure it’s far enough in advance to where it’s not a crazy stressful situation for the bride.

Backyard tented weddings is the popular choice of 2021 weddings. With all the venue postponements due to COVID 19, a lot of couples are opting for backyard tented weddings!⁠

When planning a backyard tented wedding below are some factors to consider: ⁠
⁠
1. Keep in mind, when planning a tented wedding you are starting with a blank canvas. Which means that you need to rent tables, chairs, linens, tableware, portable restrooms, water supply, generator, additional staff, among many more. ⁠
⁠
2. Hefty price. Sometimes a tented wedding can cost more than a wedding hosted in a venue. This depends on the guest count and other details rented for the tents, such as flooring, A/C or heater etc. ⁠

3. Keep in mind mother nature. When planning an outdoor wedding, the biggest stressor is the weather. This is why you must have plan A-Z, and we all know how much I love having multiple backup plans. You must have a backup plan that can be into action quickly! With that said, some solutions of having rain during you wedding would be to provide guest with umbrellas from parking lot to tent. Another smart thing to do is to rent tent walls ahead of time. ⁠

4. Local noise ordinance. When having a a backyard event you must be respectful of your neighbors. The worst case scenario is to have the cops show up at your wedding. Before that happens, it's smart to check you local noise mandate, and communicate to your neighbors that you will be having a backyard wedding ahead of time. ⁠
