UPDATE: The floor is now level where the concession and kitchen area will be in the front lobby! We now have room for the 3 bay sink, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, popcorn machine, soda machine, soft serve ice cream machine and more! Axe throwing is also back up and running now that there is a floor again. This is so exciting! Stop in during Sticks & Stones Axe Throwing normal business hours to check in on the progress! UPDATE! The bathroom floors have been prepped for tile which will be laid this weekend! The Roxy also passed the plumbing inspection for phase 1 today. We are so excited for The Roxy to serve the community as a movie theater and event center as soon as all 3 phases can be completed. It is time to clear out the old seats so that we can make room for the new ones that will be coming in the near future!! We have over 70 seats put together like this and at least 50-70 more that are taken apart. These are available in return for donations to the nonprofit Roxy movie theater Project! The Roxy will have first and second run movies, live events, axe throwing and be available for private rentals. The Roxy is a non profit organization and our goal is to bring our community together through affordable and fun entertainment!

Construction on the ROXY Theater has begun! It will be completed in three phases. Beck Builders Inc. has been hired to complete this exciting project and so far they have done an absolutely incredible job. So much work, time and planning has already taken place to get to this point!

Phase One: We have raised almost enough money to complete phase one. In this phase we are remodeling the front entrance, concessions area and bathrooms. We will be serving popcorn, candy, soda, soft serve ice cream, hot dogs and nachos. We are required to have a functioning kitchen, 3 bay sink for dishes and a hand wash sink. We have to flatten the floor in this area, add a wall, electrical, plumbing, doors new cabinets, refrigerator, dish washer, shelving and more. During this stage, the bathrooms are also being remodeled. Insulation will be placed in the exterior walls (there is a severe lack of insulation throughout the entire building). The bathrooms will get new walls, flooring, sinks, counter-tops and lighting. The main water shut off for the building will also be moved to be more accessible as it is currently located in the crawl space. We estimate phase 1 of the project will cost around $100,000 and about 70% of that has been raised. Make a donation today to bring movies back to the Bitterroot!!

We are currently at 24% of our total funding goal for the entire project that will take place in 3 phases. We are currently in the middle of phase 1 which is expected to be completed middle of this summer!! We need your help to bring back the Roxy as a nonprofit community movie theater and event center! Thank you Flora + Fauna!!

Friends! If you live close by, then you definitely know that Hamilton currently doesn’t have a functioning movie theater. The sweet young couple that bought the Roxy last year have launched a Kickstarter to raise money for the necessary renovations to bring our Roxy theater back! Having a movie theater downtown would be so amazing for Hamilton’s economic vitality!!

To support our friends around the corner, I am putting together a clothing swap in the shop! Today until March 9th, bring your clean + gently worn clothes into the shop and a donation for the Bring Back The Roxy’s kickstarter!

Then join us all day on March 10th + 11th for shopping! Donations are not required but they are strongly encouraged! 💘
