It’s National Poinsettia Day! 🌺Poinsettias are native to Mexico where they naturally bloom in the winter season. They also come in colors other than red - Max Stacy Flowers typically have both red and white poinsettias!

Poinsettias thrive in warmer weather (despite the season that they’re popular in) so leave them next to a sunny window in indirect sunlight. A common cause of poinsettias dying is overwatering so make sure that the plant is not sitting in water. It’s recommended to water them about 1-2 times a week when the pot feels light and the soil feels dry.

If you ever visit our shop in-person, we have a beautiful mural and park along the side of our building!

Created in 2019, it depicts H**e, the Greek goddess of Spring, along with peace lilies and doves to represent “peace”. The statue, also of H**e, was first originally placed in front of First National Bank (now First Financial Bank) as a drinking fountain in 1884. The gear symbols on the mural represent the Rotary Club of Hamilton and the blossoming community of Hamilton, Ohio. The right arch engraved with “Incrementum” is Latin for “growth”, which gives the mural’s name. It all seems quite appropriate to place this all next to a flower shop with themes of water, peace and growth 🕊️
