Mark Twain Himself Stage Show

On June 2, 1902, at the invitation of Reverend Doctor Gill, Mark Twain gave a sermon entitled “The Gospel of Good Cheer” at Fifth Street Baptist Church. On Sunday October 27, 2024, Fifth Street Baptist Church and First Presbyterian Church are privileged to present a reenactment of this speech.

The two congregations routinely host community events and worship together on fifth Sundays. This upcoming event will feature a variety of games and activities for all ages beginning at 4:00 pm, a free chili supper to begin serving at 4:30 pm and the presentation of “The Gospel of Good Cheer” by Mark Twain actor Richard Garey at 6:00 pm. All events will be held at Fifth Street Baptist located at 111 North 5th Street, Hannibal, MO. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The Mark Twain Himself stage show starts its 19th season tonight, May 28, and Saturday, May 29, both at 5:00 pm. Then we have shows Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 5:00 pm each day. The shows feature actor Richard Garey who recreates the famous Mark Twain stage shows, all in the words of Mark Twain and with all the fun and comedy of the originals. Join us in the Planters Barn Theater at 319 North Main Street, downtown Hannibal, Missouri.
