So my Mom and I were walking around her beautiful gardens this week noticing some of the things are not looking their best- checking out my own I realized this as well!! She mentioned it was time for "The Chelsea Chop" which I always though of as cutting back the ugly in Hanover!!! Anyway, according to "Fine Gardening" magazine here is what "The Chelsea Chop" is- you can read the entire article on their website, article #188 - use care because there are some plants that do not take well to it!! However, if you have plants that are looking leggy or tired already it is a great rejuvenator!!!!

THE CHELSEA CHOP:

Pretty much any gardening book that’s worth its salt mentions the Chelsea Chop—but most do only that. The introduction of the concept is usually followed by some variation of this sentence: “Cut the plants back by a third or half to delay bloom and limit size.” But the how, why, and what are rarely discussed. The Chelsea Chop can be used to great effect if you’re trying to create peak season combinations. It often allows you to ensure that plants which don’t normally bloom in tandem with each other reach their peak at a similar time. There are several other benefits too, as well as some drawbacks.

Got some cleaning going on with our fresh, clean rosemary citron all purpose cleaner and rosemary- lemongrass, citrus wax melts in the melter - yum!!! Smells sooo delicious!!!
