Doria and Keynes first date happened in Maine. Doria was studying dentistry in Maine, while Keynes lived in Massachusetts. They met online, and knew that they had to setup in-person dates because they just hit it off! The proposal was a complete surprise to Doria, who thought they were enjoying a rare long weekend in Boston together. Keynes had set up a balloon arch and signs in addition to the getaway details, and of course, she said yes!

They enjoy playing basketball, traveling, reading the Bible, dancing, listening to music, going to movies and volunteering together. They were most looking forward to communion at their wedding ceremony, which was really moving. Best wishes for a long and happy life together, Doria and Keynes!

Kait and Mike's first date was at Stellwagon, and as Kait says "we liked each other enough we decided to get dinner after a drink." Kait is not a beer drinker, so she called her brothers for advice on what to order at the brewery, however, when her first choice was not available, she admitted to Mike that she didn't know what else to pick. He ordered for her, and must have chosen well, because one date turned to many, and they got engaged on her birthday. Mike even baked a heart-shaped cake for the occasion.

And when it came to the wedding, this was a full family celebration! The kids played a prank on Mike at the first look, were part of the entrances, helped cut the cake, and even their dog, Stelli, made an appearance.

Kait and Mike love going to Maine together, visiting breweries, taking Stelli for walks, going out to dinner or playing in their adult softball league together. I guess it wasn't any surprise that his engagement pitch was a hit - diamonds are a girl's best friend! Kait and Mike, best wishes - glad you found your home run.

Kary and Terrance were introduced on "coffee meets bagel" (an online dating app). I love that they embraced this very modern way of meeting, and even made it part of their wedding favors. They enjoy the beach, boat rides, hiking, kayaking, cooking together and watching comedy specials. Their wedding ceremony featured a special hand fasting ceremony, and they enjoyed mingling with all their guests during cocktail hour because we were able to complete all their family pictures after their first look prior to the ceremony. I loved working with this couple - they are so kind and down to earth and we were laughing through their whole engagement session (even though it was bitterly cold that day!). Best wishes, Kary and Terrance.

Amanda and Mike met in high school, but didn't get engaged until 2023. They love to travel together - in fact, they got engaged in Portugal! When it came to the wedding, they were definitely excited to celebrate with all their friends and family. I love the details they pulled together, especially the elegance of Amanda's dress (love that neckline - it looked gorgeous on her), and that Mike's suit was green! It perfectly matched the vibe with the bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen bowties. Best wishes, Amanda and Mike!

Now that it's winter, we're into wedding open house season! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the big expos where I get to be creative with booth decor and meet crowds of excited folks... But there's something really special about open houses AT venues because there's more time to really talk about upcoming weddings and connect with the vision couples have for THEIR day... Plus, it's neat to see the creativity venues have when they get to pull out all the stops! So I'm spending a few days getting new swag all ready (and each venue is going to get something a little different and personalized - super excited for this! I'll have to share some pictures when they are finished).

First up, one of my favorites, Barker House. They are having their special tasting event for their booked couples on 2/5! I'm so excited to meet couples in person and for them to experience the menu - lots of great food to try! If you want a venue with HISTORY, this is a place you NEED to see. You don't have to go crazy on decor because it's already very unique and an iconic spot in Scituate, and with the lighthouse just down the street, it's easy to see why I love working here. Plus the team is just amazing - you are in really good hands.

Then, 1620 Winery on 2/9. If you haven't seen the inside of this venue, you are missing out - it's STUNNING - definitely a photographer's dream venue and a place that HAS to be seen to be believed! I've worked with Jenn for a number of years now (let's not say how many so I can still pretend I'm young). She is one of the best coordinators in the business.

Hotel 1620 is having their showcase the following weekend on 2/16. This place has it all! You can make a whole wedding weekend out of it (hotel stay included), and their location can't be beat! Right in the heart of it all at Plymouth harbor. Seriously - have your rehearsal and your rehearsal dinner here or at one of the very nearby restaurants. Get ready in the massive suites. Have your ceremony and reception right here and then go afterparty at the bars and walk (stumble) home to the hotel!

In March, I'll be at Ipswich Country Club on 3/9 - if you're hunting for a location on the North shore, you have to check this place out. Every time I'm there I'm so impressed with the experience. Alicia is one of the sweetest people and she's super helpful with planning. (I think the swag I've put together for them is one of my favorite so far as well - it also has the most puns, which might be why I like it so much...)

And to finish up the winter, I'll be at Miraval Gardens tasting event for their booked couples on 3/23. Another one of my favorite venues - it's a true hidden gem. IYKYK - walk in here, and you'll see what I'm talking about. I have to limit myself when we're taking pictures in the garden because I could spend the whole wedding day out there taking pictures with beautiful couples. I think it was built with photography in mind! And with a wall of windows that look right out into that garden space, and newly remodeled cocktail area, if you're seeking a modern space for your wedding, schedule a tour. You won't be disappointed - the team here is full of energy and experience. You're in excellent hands!

For now, that's all for the winter... Stop by and say hi!

When you know someone as well as Jade and Corey know each other, it can be hard to keep a secret, even as fun a secret as a proposal. They had been talking about getting married for a little while, and on the day of the proposal, they were helping a friend move into a new apartment that was right by the water. Corey kept commenting that "if it wasn't raining, we could go for a walk and do something fun", and Jade could see the ring box in his pocket! Needless to say, when the rain DID let up, they were exploring the area and Jade pointed out a spot saying "oh look, there's a dry rock that won't get your knee wet when you kneel." Well that was it, he took the cue and proposed!

Jade and Corey like to explore different cuisines together, look at the stars, watch horror films, play video games, take walks in the woods and most importantly, just make time for each other. Even when life gets busy, or after dating/being married for awhile, they never want to lose touch with what is important, and so it's a priority to always make time for each other. I love that!

I've got to update the cover photo of my page because it looks like KGP hasn't won a "couples' choice award since 2022... I'm proud that there hasn't been a year since I started on their platform that Kristin Griffin Photography wasn't on the awards list, and it's really a testament to my wonderful couples who are so sweet to write reviews and recommend me. The awards would not be possible if you didn't first trust me with your wedding memories. So thank you! And cheers to a great start to 2025!

Jenna and Tim met at UNH five years ago, through a mutual friend who ended up being their maid of honor. They got engaged on Jenna's birthday in front of Chatham lighthouse. Now, they like to watch movies, go on walks together, workout and go to the beach. So it made sense that when it came time to pick a wedding venue, it had to be near the water. Cue the Plymouth Yacht Club, which has quickly become a new favorite of mine - what a fun hidden gem. Their wedding was a lot of fun to film - best wishes, Jenna and Tim!

While there were many memorable moments from Sam and Steve's wedding (like how chill they were during the getting ready time, how fun it was that Sam asked her friends to be her "something blue, I do crew" instead of just bridesmaids - she also had a "Matt of Honor" as part of her wedding party, etc), my favorite detail was their guestbook. Each guest was invited to make their own lego mini-figure! It was really fun to watch what the guests created - so unique and a great conversation starter during cocktail hour. I love it when couples find unique and fun ways to celebrate at the wedding - and this was one I hadn't seen before. Best wishes, Sam and Steve! Don't ever Lego of each other!

You know you've found your person when the only one you want to talk to on wedding morning (or any stressful moment) is them. That's how it was for Kathryn and Nick. When things got to be stressful (as they can be for many couples on the wedding day), all they needed was a phone call, a quick hug or a kiss on the forehead and all was well again. It's like these two souls just needed to be close together for all to be right in the world. Best wishes, Kathryn and Nick - may you always ground each other and make each other laugh!

When I met with Kayla and Jon Paul, they emphasized how important the music would be in their wedding films. They had a list of music they wanted to use, and I was happy to include it, especially once I realized that some of it was ORIGINAL tracks written and composed by the groom himself! He wrote their first dance song! How special is that?!? Their wedding had all sorts of special touches like that - from the tables being named after some of their favorite musicals, to few dance songs at the reception that had everyone singing along (and playing air guitar), this is a couple that knows how to have fun! Best wishes!

About a week before their wedding, Ryan reached out to see if I was available for video. Fortunately, I still had their date open, and I was really happy to get to film this special day, and I'm glad they opted to get it all on video. This is one couple that LOVES all things music! Their wedding featured a few different performances (including by some of their nearest and dearest family members) - there is a lot of talent in this group! Best wishes Mary Grace and Ryan! Kristin and Michael met in the most modern way - online, and had their first date "over tacos and margs and stayed until they closed." They got engaged at the New England Aquarium, and they love to try new breweries together, share a relaxing beach day or go to a Bruins game. Their wedding had such a fun party atmosphere - they even made their own mini golf course for people to enjoy during cocktail hour!

Michelle and Zach were introduced by three friends at a party and went out for their first coffee date only a week later. In 2023, they got engaged and it was a total surprise to Michelle. Zach asked both Michelle's dad and her daughter for Michelle's hand in marriage one week before and everyone kept the secret! I really enjoyed their take on the traditional "sand" ceremony using crystals instead (he's a geologist and she's a Reiki master), and the geode cake and crystal favors! Best wishes, Michelle and Zach!
