For the remainder of domestic violence awareness month, I will pose thought-provoking questions that have come up in conversations along my journey the past week and my survivor/advocate perspective was asked. The questions provoked deep reflection so I thought I would share them as QOTDs. Each question is designed to encourage provoke discussion.

These questions are designed to challenge simplistic views of domestic violence, bringing in layers of moral, legal, and emotional complexity that often go unaddressed in public discourse. They encourage people to think deeply about the nuances of accountability, justice, and survivor experience.

QOTD #1
If a survivor of domestic violence takes the life of their abuser in self-defense, should they be held accountable for the death? At what point does self-defense cross into criminal responsibility?

Please comment your response below. Remember, even if you disagree, do it respectfully.

Thank you,
Tiffiney ๐Ÿ’œ
