On August 12, 2024, Paul Frederick Maurer Sr., age 83, of Harrison, loving husband, father, grandpa, and friend passed away and this world will never be the same without him. He had the ability to connect with everyone he met and even those he didn't meet but knew from his phone interaction. He was a great listener and a dedicated logistics manager. He talked to many people all over and knew everything about them. He showed interest in other's lives and always checked in with them. His charisma, kindness, and strong work ethic made him successful in his career.

Fond of fishing and camping, Paul had a passion for life and cherished every moment. Paul was very punctual, meaning if he was on time he was late. His love for coffee and baseball were well-known among those who knew him. He met his loving wife, Mary, when she was working as a waitress. Paul captured her heart by having a young boy hand deliver a yellow rose to her when he would come in to the restaurant.

Paul was a dear friend of Bill W and has left a huge hole that will need to be filled because he was always a phone call away for many who needed support.

Those left to carry on Paul's legacy are his loving wife: Mary Annette Maurer, his children: Mary (Dermot) Cummings, Paul Maurer Jr., and Annette (Kirk) Troescher, brother: Alan (Chris) Maurer, his grandchildren: Liam (Nichole) Cummings, Jennifer (Gregg) Creamer, and Joshua and Dominic Troescher; 6 great-grandchildren; as well as sisters-in-law: Cora Lee (Richard) Alley and Lucy Bieber.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents: Elmer and Marie Maurer; sister; Janet Smith; mother-in-law & father-in-law: Maynard and Ruth Bieber; and brother-in-law: Frank Bieber.

Gathering of Friends and family will be held at the Coffee Peddlar, 112 Harrison Ave., Harrison Ohio 45030 on Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 4 pm to 7 pm. Words of remembrance and prayer will be held at 5 pm.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in Paul's memory.
