Every year we promote multiculturalism, the Harrison Fest committee has run a town-wide multicultural event celebrating the many ethnic cultures that make our community so great. Because this event has been so successful every year, the NJ Statewide Multicultural Association has been created. We have now combined a series of events that will take place year round with some very special highlights.
I invite you to join us in making this a focal point of all the things that can be done in the state of NJ. We begin our celebrations with a Queens Gala Dinner on September 15th, where 400+ people gather and over 30 countries from around the world are represented. The queens each represent one country and brings with her traditional dress, and culture. We continue to distribute Thanks giving baskets of food for families in need in November. During the holiday season we also have a Christmas Dinner where more than 1000+ people are fed, toys are given to the children & presents are given to the seniors. Entertainment for the community is abounding beginning with performances, school bands, dj’s, folkloric groups, clowns, Magicians etc. With the participation of multiple organizations. We serve food, and put our focus in the community, specially that each child receives their gift from Santa with a souvenir photograph provided to each child. Finally, at the end of the school year, scholarships are provided to high school students who dedicate their time to volunteering in the community. These young adults deserve recognition for all their time and talent given to the people of the community. Therefore, we ask that you join us in making all these events an even bigger success than in the past. It’s people like you who allow us to continue to do good and to highlight all the great cultures that make this state and country the gem that it is. With your help, we know we will. Thank you for your support!
