Introducing some farm friends..... The big boy that is lavender is Prince Charming and he cares for Cinderella, Snow White, Mulan, Merida..... Cluck Williams takes care of Loretta Hen, Mini Pearl, and a few others....Fabio cares for S'more, Karen, and Mabel.... And Lancelot cares for Genevieve.

It's hatch day! my husband didn't want to be responsible for the chicks today as they hatch while I was at work, so I have plugged them into the truck and taken them along for the ride. So far I have peeps in four eggs. Here's hoping that I get about 10!

The first of the second hatch have been moved into my brooder I have set up in the kitchen. Leroy Jenkins, I believe, is a rooster. He's the bigger one that hangs out on top of the warming plate.

My big predator hunter was on point tonight! Good job bagging the bad guy. I'm sorry to report he's gotten 4...and a whole nest of almost hatched chicks. 😭 The girl in the photo was hatched late March, a Copper Maran, and had just started laying chocolate brown eggs.

I came home from work and found Cinderella almost a third of a mile away from the house on the driveway! We had a coyote hit the free-ranging chickens in the yard today and I think she might have gotten scared and run down the driveway and forgotten where she lived.

I'm not sure who just started laying, but I've got two new colors in my coop today! I guess I'll have to keep a better eye on who's going in and out so I can figure out who the new layer is.

This is Harpy the Silkie. He came to us a few months ago by way of Northeast of Nashville. He loves pets, to check out the new stuff, and when treats aren't evident, he's gone. 😂 Today, he got to ride the boys' new birthday present.... And I think he's hooked.
