We've got an opening here, and we are looking for help! Could you see yourself as a part of Public Works?

We have an opening for a Parks and Facilities Maintenance Worker here at Harvard Public Works. It is a great group to work with, with some of the staff here since 1984 (!).

This position is responsible for overseeing and performing a variety of parks & maintenance duties related to the maintenance and upkeep of parks, recreational areas, public pool, and public spaces. The Park and Facility Maintenance worker will supervise a team of seasonal workers, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. Work is performed at a moderate, constant pace, but may vary slightly depending on the demands of the job required. Work is performed under the supervision of the Superintendent of Public Works. The position is on 24-hour call for a week once every 7 weeks, and must be available November through March for snow operations.

Ideal applicant will have a minimum of two (2) years’ responsible work experience in public works, parks maintenance, landscaping, construction, or related field with basic supervisory oversight; or any combination and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Applicant must be 18 years of age or older and have a High School Diploma or equivalent and a class B or greater CDL License w/air brake endorsement. Consideration may be made for those without a CDL license if skills or experience are exemplary.

This is a Union Position with the Teamsters Local 700. Starting pay and benefits are defined by the bargaining unit contract. Starting wage for this position is $31.47.
