Our Story

Keeping in harmony with nature, Nagelkirk Gardens has been offering a variety of plants to nourish the body, soul, and whatever space they occupy since 1988. Our owner Steve Nagelkirk used to own Nagelkirk Fruit Market, which included a small nursery section for plants and shrubs. He began a natural evolution from produce market to landscape and lawncare after studying landscape design at Michigan State University, and now found his way back to nursery and plants. Today, he shares his passion for greenery by supplying the city’s flowers and providing plants to the community. True to his roots, he also offers landscaping for residential and commercial settings. Our staff is extremely knowledgeable about care and conditions, so rest assured you’ll never leave with a flower that won’t flourish. Our depth of knowledge and experience is unrivaled, but we’re always seeking to increase our knowledge in plant care and trends to bring you the best, newest, and most exciting plants and products.
