Congratulations to Katie and Jordan Midgarden!

We had an unforgettable weekend at Naastad Acres celebrating the union of Katie and Jordan. After more than a year of meticulous planning, the much-anticipated weekend finally arrived, and it was an absolute joy to work with this wonderful couple from start to finish. Their unwavering smiles—from the initial booking to the big day—made the entire experience truly special. We are delighted to welcome them to the Naastad Acres family.

As I walked with Jordan, it was clear how deeply he admired Katie's vision, which she executed flawlessly in every detail. It was heartwarming to witness the love he has for his bride and the respect he holds for her family, who were by her side every step of the way in planning this special day. With the unwavering support of her loving mother Patty, her sister Carey, and her brother-in-law Chad, Katie brought this vision to life, surrounded by love, smiles, and laughter throughout the entire weekend.

Friday: Setting the Scene

Friday was all about preparation. The theme centered around sunflowers, bringing vibrant pops of color to each table, complemented by eucalyptus and personal touches. The tent featured a sweetheart table with a stunning sunflower-colored loveseat, perfectly setting the stage. Giant sunflowers in black wooden boxes added a striking contrast, while the barn was adorned with a memorial shelf, seed packet favors, and a window listing the attendants. The guest book—a black guitar, fitting for both Jordan and his father Chuck, who are both musicians—was a unique touch. I hope to share a photo of it soon.

Katie’s gifts to her attendants were equally thoughtful. The ladies received beautiful necklaces, while the groomsmen were given watches. Katie, a goldsmith at Riddles in Grand Forks, went above and beyond—her colleagues' manager, Nolan Thompson and Conner Bosch, even made a special trip to Naastad Acres to personally size the watches during the rehearsal, which was a first for us. The patio was filled with laughter as everyone relaxed and prepared for the day ahead.

Saturday: The Big Day

Saturday arrived, and Katie was busy in the “Hen House” getting ready with her attendants. Her sister Carey and Krissy Varnson, took charge of hair and makeup, making sure everything was perfect. The day flew by, and before we knew it, it was time for the ceremony.

Reverend Dustin, affectionately known as RevD, one of our favorites at Naastad Acres, was Katie and Jordan’s choice for officiant. The service began with Jordan escorting the grandmothers, followed by his parents, Dana and Chuck. A lighthearted air guitar move from Jordan and Chuck set the tone for the ceremony—fun, love-filled, and full of warmth. As Katie stepped out in her lace dress and long cathedral veil, all eyes were on her as she was escorted down the aisle by her mother, Patty. It was a beautiful, emotional moment as she made her way to her groom. The moment they had meticulously planned for had finally arrived, culminating in their introduction as Mr. and Mrs. Midgarden. Congratulations!

Celebration: Dinner, Dancing and Photo Booth

We enjoyed a fantastic dinner catered by Ground Round Grill & Bar-Grand Forks, ND, who consistently go above and beyond. Gigi’s Cupcakes were a delicious treat, followed by dancing under the stars with DJ Paula Heskin of Kourage Entertainment. It was heartwarming to see everyone, from kids to adults, enjoying the evening. They were able to capture some fun photos from Gathered. Boutique Rentals & Events photo booth. Katie and Jordon did not miss a detail.

As I escorted guests to their cars on the golf cart, many little ones told me it was "the best night ever"—something that truly warmed my heart.

A special thank you to Rumors, Gary, for ensuring everyone got home safely, and to our photographer My Wanderlust, Kayla Duffney and Brittany, and videographer from SD, Niki Shishnia for capturing the day’s special moments. We hope to share some of these memories with you soon.

Congratulations to Stephanie and Jacob Heisler!

It was a joy and honor to witness Stephanie and Jacob, a couple near and dear to our hearts, tie the knot this weekend at Naastad Acres. They arrived on Friday with a mix of excitement and anticipation, surrounded by an abundance of love and support. This was the weekend they had been eagerly awaiting.

Although there was a brief mix-up about the rehearsal—Jacob was confident they had everything under control and considered skipping it—Stephanie wisely insisted on a run-through, especially with little ones involved. Our charming flower girl, Hazel, and the dashing ring bearer, Emmit, proved to be pros as they gracefully made their way off the porch. The rehearsal went smoothly, easing any jitters, and it was touching to see Stephanie and her father take that first symbolic step towards the future. One of the most cherished moments is witnessing the love between a father and his daughter as they begin the rehearsal walk – a moment that often brings a tear to the eye.

After the rehearsal, the evening transitioned to the patio for a relaxed dinner prepared by Berry, the father of the groom and Melissa, mother of the groom, there was an opportunity for some quality time with loved ones. As the sun set, guests enjoyed a lively game of corn hole, followed by rearranging the tables for a large group gathering. The atmosphere was perfect, filled with laughter and fellowship.

Saturday morning began with a quiet calm at the farm. Stephanie and her bridesmaids were busy with hair and makeup, expertly handled by Chelsie, Hair by CK and Carly Irene Artistry. The excitement had now blossomed into pure joy. Meanwhile, Jacob and his groomsmen enjoyed a round of golf, leaving the farm peaceful and serene. John and I took the opportunity to relax and catch up with Michelle and Dale, the bride’s parents—an uncommon but treasured moment for us.

As the morning flew by, small details were carefully attended to by Allison, the bride’s sister and maid of honor, who was determined to ensure everything was perfect for her sister. Before we knew it, Officiant Amber had arrived, and the ceremony was ready to begin. Amber’s message highlighted Stephanie and Jacob’s shared love for family, hunting, fishing, and puzzles. Despite the warm weather causing Stephanie to feel faint at one point, Jacob’s reassuring hand brought a smile to her face as she continued to share her vows—a truly sweet moment.

The celebration continued with a delicious meal catered by Ground Round, who consistently provide exceptional service. The food was, as always, delectable. As the evening progressed, Jeremiah from Harmon Entertainment kicked off the dance with some lighthearted fun, including a playful quiz for the bride’s father, Dale. When asked for his daughter’s full name, Dale humorously stumbled, momentarily forgetting that she was now Mrs. Stephanie Lynn Heisler. His error led to laughter and a sweet moment when he kissed his wife for the wrong answer.

The summer evening was perfect for dancing under the stars on the patio. The night was filled with laughter, dancing, and celebration among friends and family who had come from near and far, all united in their love and support for the newlyweds.

We wish Mr. and Mrs. Heisler a wonderful honeymoon in Jamaica and a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and endless happiness. It was a privilege to be part of the beginning of your journey together.

Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Moncada—Callie and Brady!

This past weekend at Naastad Acres was nothing short of magical. Callie and Brady spent the past year meticulously planning every detail of their special day, with the loving support of their families. From the thoughtfully curated meals to the personalized table settings and the welcoming sign that greeted guests on the pathway, Callie’s personal touch was evident in every aspect of the celebration. The love and support of their family and friends truly brought the day to life, turning it into a beautiful memory that will be cherished forever.

On Friday, Pastor Peter Coen from United Lutheran Church in Grand Forks led the rehearsal. We learned about the significant impact Pastor Peter has had on Brady’s life, particularly in shaping his faith. It was clear that this was not just a ceremony, but a meaningful moment rooted in deep personal connections.

Saturday’s events began with the anticipation of keeping Brady and Callie apart until their first look. As she stepped onto the porch, Brady was visibly moved, wiping away joyful tears as the door opened. The love between them was palpable as she walked toward him, and his smile spoke volumes.

Pastor Peter’s message during the ceremony was both a blessing and a testament to Callie and Brady’s deep faith. Their personalized vows reflected the profound love and joy they share, with Brady setting a heartfelt tone and Callie pausing to collect herself before sharing her own. The ceremony concluded with a blessing over their union and a kiss to seal their vows.

Callie and Brady took time to greet each guest personally before stepping away for their photos. During the reception, Callie gave a touching tribute to her mother, honoring her for the laughter, tears, and love they shared throughout the planning process by gifting her the bridal bouquet—a truly special moment.

Callie and Brady mentioned they weren't much for dancing, but when it came time for their first dance, they surprised everyone with a beautifully choreographed performance. That special touch truly highlighted the deep love they share for one another.

We are thrilled to welcome Callie and Brady to our Naastad Acres family. We hope your weekend was everything you envisioned and more. Congratulations! May your new journey together be filled with many years of happiness, laughter, and love.

Welcoming the Schrader Family: Sydney, Tyler, and Brooks
We had the pleasure of hosting an unforgettable weekend with the Schrader family at Naastad Acres. Time truly flew by as we celebrated a beautiful occasion filled with love, laughter, and togetherness.
When Sydney, Tyler, and their son Brooks arrived on Friday, we were delighted to see how much little Brooks had grown since their booking in February 2023. No longer the tiny baby in a carrier, Brooks was full of joy as he “drove” his father’s truck, his smile lighting up the day. He quickly made himself at home, ready to celebrate alongside his parents.
On Saturday, I had the privilege of checking in on Sydney as she prepared for her big day in the “Hen House.” She was calm, radiant, and wore a constant smile that was truly heartwarming. Sydney’s choice of soft seagrass for her bridesmaids was both elegant and serene, perfectly complementing the supportive and loving atmosphere her close friends and family brought to the occasion.
Tyler, our groom, was equally devoted, focused on making Sydney’s dream day a reality. When I mentioned how beautiful Sydney looked, his response was simple yet profound: “I’m a lucky guy.” And indeed, he is.
The gentlemen, dressed in blue jeans, tan suit jackets, and a few cowboy hats, added a charming touch to the day. Tyler’s attendants, comprised of close friends and family, brought a sense of camaraderie, evident in their teasing, laughter, and lighthearted moments.
It was an honor to witness these two begin their journey together at our farm. With many of Sydney’s family members hailing from Hatton, it felt like a homecoming for us as well.
One of the weekend’s most remarkable aspects was the presence of five generations on both sides of the family—a rare and cherished occurrence that added even more significance to the celebration.
We were deeply moved by the way Tyler looked at his bride, with love, respect, and admiration shining through in every glance.
We are thrilled to welcome the Schrader family to the Naastad Acres community. It was a blessing to be a part of their special day. ❤️
