Volunteers and the Non-Profit
Volunteers are the life blood of any non-profit organization. Presenting the Cherokee Exhibit Festival, maintaining the Jack Rabbit trails, staging the Summer Concert series on the Hayesville Square - all are powered by helping hands!
Volunteers come in all shapes and sizes and serve in various ways. Some come week after week because they like a set schedule, others have pet projects about which they are passionate. At CCCRA, even our Board of Directors are volunteers! All our volunteers are special and appreciated, and we have a soft spot for the younger ones, the kids still in school, the interns. At the Beal Center, we were fortunate to have had a Hayesville High School junior who helped out in our gift ship last spring, an intern from Young Harris College who worked with us all last summer, and we now have a Masters student from Western Carolina University who is doing her Capstone project with us! We love working with the students, not only for the help they provide, but also so we can pass along our passion for preservation and community outreach in Clay County.
If you know a student, high school age or older, who would be interested in learning more about volunteering at CCCRA, please let us know! You can call Kirsten at 828-415-1623 or email [email protected]
