For years, the people living in Hazard, KY have claimed to hear screams and loud, unexplainable noises coming from the old Perry County Jail. Trouble is, the old jail has been closed and is no longer used, meaning that no human being moves within its walls. But in early October 2017, a mysterious company called HDM Corp claimed to have been using the facility to conduct scientific experiments on

volunteer test subjects, who turned out to be hardened criminals from nearby penitentiaries. Now, the Underwood Adjustment Center (the name it has given to the facility) is opening its doors to the public, inviting them to come see the fruits of their labor. If you dare to enter, you will see a strange world, full of the things that haunt your dreams when everything in life goes terribly wrong. This is an upside down world, an underworld, an unbelievably cursed world, where creatures you've never imagined exist and half-human, half-something awful beings roam the dark halls and cages. Or will you be trapped inside forever, an unwilling participant in an experiment that has only one outcome: DOOM! Come see what all we have in store for you. Thursday Admission: $5
Friday & Saturday Admission: $10

**We will be posting some event guidelines soon, so be sure to make yourself aware of those. When you arrive at the event, you will be given a paper copy to review and sign. Remember that you're forbidden from touching any of the actors inside the facility. They will not touch you, but some incidental contact may occur. We reserve the right to remove any individual deemed to be disruptive or in any way antagonistic to the spirit of the event. If you get too scared and have to exit the event any time prior to its completion, we will consider it a job well done.

Making Halloween-themed plans this Friday night? Head on out to DINO FRIGHT in downtown Hazard! You’ll be taking a Halloween adventure inside a venue that is actually haunted. There’s plenty to scare you about the old Perry County Jail. Disembodied screams, solid black shadow figures, the sounds of children playing (except there are no little children here), ghost sightings ... yes, we have seen and heard it all. We can’t guarantee that you’ll see or hear any of that, but our monsters are certainly ready to terrify you. So, bring that fear with you, and let us scare the heck out of you on this last weekend before Halloween!

Thanks to our incredible volunteers and the support of the community - that means YOU, we raised over $3,000 for Kentucky River Community Care, Inc. programs throughout our four-weekend run! Our entire Horizen Digital Media team (the real HDM) looks forward to bringing you another Halloween adventure next year ... and who knows what else?!

Our Story

For years, the people living in Hazard, KY have claimed to hear screams and loud, unexplainable noises coming from the old Perry County Jail. Trouble is, the old jail has been closed and is no longer used, meaning that no human being moves within its walls.

However, last October, a mysterious company called HDM Corp claimed to have been using the facility to conduct scientific experiments on volunteer test subjects, who turned out to be hardened criminals from nearby penitentiaries. It was later discovered that these “test subjects” had not volunteered for the experiments at all and that many ethics violations occurred at the facility.

In mid-November 2017, HDM Corp closed the Underwood Adjustment Center and went into a period of re-structuring. Now, the team of scientists has opened the Underwood Jurassic Center, where they are reportedly conducting tests on reptiles. In September 2018, it was announced that a previously undiscovered species of dinosaur, the Carboraptor, had been unearthed on Highway 15 near Hazard, the remains exposed following a series of blasts for new road construction in that area. HDM Corp ramped up its studies after the discovery, and now, they are opening the doors of the Jurassic Center to the public, inviting them to come take a look at their latest creations.
