In case you missed it . . . The Hazleton Art League's Young Poets' Showcase made it into the Hazleton Standard Speaker. Thanks to the talented young poets and the people who came to listen to them for a wonderful and creative evening of poetry.

The Hazleton Art League held a Young Poets’ Showcase on Thursday evening, hosted by Sulette Lange, Poetry Out Loud state champion. It was a special evening, hearing these young voices recite poems in the gallery.
But that’s not all that took place—there was Alexa Figas’ Introduction to the Arts for Kids and Jane Butkovsky’s drawing and painting class as well. There’s always something happening at the Hazleton Art League. Come on by and check it out! Side note—I tried to capture the aurora borealis from Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress and Penn State Hazleton campus.

WOW! Members of the Hazleton Area Garden Club brought their floral magic to the gallery opening of Nicolene Fulton’s one-woman show: Realism Revisited at the Hazleton Art League. To have the full experience of “Art in Bloom”, join us Sunday, October 6 from 1-3pm for Coffee Talk. Fulton will talk about her art and the garden club will talk about their floral creations and how they reflect the artist’s vision. Free and open to the public.

Executive Director Mark Peterson accepted an award on behalf of the Hazleton Art League for 40 years of membership. It is a wonderful partnership with the Chamber and so many other fine organizations.
