Have you ever dreamed of something so incredible it feels just out of reach? One of those fleeting thoughts that seem more like a daydream than a real possibility? Sometimes, simply saying the words out loud can set the wheels in motion for the most extraordinary journeys.

That’s exactly what happened to us a year ago. It started as a casual musing: “Wouldn’t it be cool to take senior portraits in Iceland?” At the time, it felt like a far-fetched idea—a beautiful thought, but not something we could imagine actually doing. Little did we know, that single sentence would spark an adventure we’ll never forget.

We won’t mention how long it took us to calculate your age… but let’s just say you’ve earned the title of “office dad.”

Without you, there’d be no FLS, and we couldn’t be more grateful for everything you do—from spicing up mundane office days with your unique commentary to keeping us entertained with your Top 5 jokes (on eternal repeat).

How does one know if a couple has “IT”?…

IT being the uncanny understanding of the journey that lies ahead,

IT being the beyond-their-years maturity to handle the everyday highs and lows together with grace and optimism,

IT being the grasp of love on a biblical level, where vows are more than just pretty words and the commitment to nurture that love on a daily basis, rain or shine,

IT being a true love for a good dance party, and…

IT being a support system of only the highest quality, friends, and family devoted to the sanctuary and encouragement of these two along the path.

These two have IT in spades, and IT will serve them well for years upon years into the future.

Our Story

Floating Leaf Studios is a Montana wedding and portrait photographer devoted to couples with deep Montana roots.

Authentic Montana love stories give us life. We grew up in Montana and, as the saying goes, have "the same s*** on our boots as you do."

We love where we live. We love the history, and grandeur, and poetic beauty that is the Big Sky State. We work in a building constructed in 1884, and constantly stare out our studio windows at Mt. Helena, only two minutes away.

We think weddings, like the wild Montana mountains, deserve to be observed with splendor, and that splendor turned into art. Our job is to create images that you are just as excited about in thirty years as you are on your wedding day.
