Snooker is a class offered in USDAA & UKI. There is a USDAA trial at Top Dog next weekend, 4/5 & 4/6! The secondary closing date is today, so get those entries in now if you’d like to do that trial!

$40 per dog for those not actively enrolled in an ongoing class at Top Dog.
$32.50 for active students. (Students can use these sessions as a makeup class if it’s within the current 6week session)
90 seconds per turn. 3-4 rounds per session.

These sessions are great for getting practice in outside of your regular classes or for trial prep. Heavy emphasis on trial environment with minimal instruction provided.

AKC Style sessions are open to all levels that are sequencing obstacles. In the AKC sessions, there are two courses setup: Exc/Mas level Standard and a Jumpers. We walk then run each course. Lower level teams are welcome to break courses down into shorter sequences.

For the international style sessions, dogs should have an understanding of premier type skills (backsides, tough weave entrance/exits, etc) In these sessions, a course from a popular international judge will be set up.

The USDAA sessions will be one game per session: Gamblers and Snooker. We will go over the rules to these classes, then walk and run the course set. Shelby will play judge for these sessions!

The UKI Session will run the same as the AKC style, but the Standard and Jumpers courses will be designed in UKI style (biggest difference is bigger spacing, more yardage!)

We have added extra FastCat Practice sessions for this FastCat season!
Reminder that FastCat does not happen year round! Our last official test weekend of the season is the end of April. After that it’s too hot over the summer, and we don't pick back up until September.

Practice sessions are wonderful for those new to the sport that would like to try it out before entering an official trial! You are allowed to walk down the track and/or run with your dog during practices! This is not allowed during official test runs.

Here is a list of all FastCat Practice Sessions available this season:

4/18 7-8:30pm
4/19 10-11:30am
4/25 5:30-7:30pm

Practices are $20 per dog (2 practice runs)

The Hill Country Agility Club had its first club party on Sunday afternoon! We had a Halloween costume contest, potluck and fun agility contests with prizes. I think it’s safe to say fun was had by all who attended! Huge thank you to Mechelle, Margo, Shannon, and all the other club members who helped plan and setup this awesome club party! Our Dream

Training dogs and competing in events has always been a passion of ours. Rene began her dog training journey at age 15 by competing in AKC Obedience with her Irish Setter. This eventually lead to her discovering how awesome and fun Agility is. She dabbled in AKC Conformation events and even bred several litters of English Cocker Spaniels, but Agility became her passion. I followed suit as soon as I was able and began competing in Agility at age 5. Over the years we’ve traveled the state and even country, following our passion and competing with our dogs. We’ve achieved many goals and continue striving to achieve more. One goal we have always dreamed of achieving is to create an indoor facility capable of hosting agility trials in the San Antonio area. Well, we are finally making that dream come true by creating Top Dog Training Center. Rene and her husband, Jerald located and secured a property with a facility that we are currently developing to host both training and trialing events. The facility is nestled in the hill country in Helotes, TX and has beautiful views. It’s secured behind not one but two gates and will be equipped with quality turf and A/C. We are very excited about this venture and hope to provide a top of the line facility for everyone to enjoy. Stay tuned for more exciting news!
