I grew up in Boulder City and never thought I was raised by low income parents, during a time when most everyone treated each other with respect.

We didn't eat a lot of fast food because it was considered a treat, not a food group.

We drank Kool-Aid made from water that came from our kitchen sink with real sugar.

We ate bologna sandwiches, or even tuna (which was in a can not a pouch), PB&J & grilled cheese sandwiches, hot dogs, pot pies, but mostly homemade meals consisting of mainly meat, potatoes, vegetable, bread & butter, and homemade dessert.🥧

We grew up during a time when we mowed lawns, pulled weeds, babysat, helped neighbors with chores to be able to earn our own money. 💰💸

We went outside a lot to play games, ride bikes, red rover, dodge ball, run with siblings, and friends & played hide and seek.🚲🛼🛹

We drank tap water from the water hose outside... bottled water was unheard of. If we had a coke -it was in a glass bottle ... and we took the empties back to the store for a 5 cent deposit.

We watched TV shows like Bonanza, Leave It To Beaver, Gilligan's Island, Happy Days, Bewitched, The Brady Bunch, Little House On The Prairie, and I Love Lucy.

After school, we came home, and did homework, and chores before going outside or having friends over.

We would ride our bikes for hours. We had to tell our parents where we were going, who we were going with, and what time we'd be back.

You LEARNED from your parents instead of disrespecting them, and treating them as if they knew absolutely nothing. What they said was LAW, and you did not question it, and you had better know it!!!

When the sun was starting to set you had better be home. 🏡

In school we said the Pledge of Allegiance, we stood for the National Anthem, and listened to our teachers.🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

We watched what we said around our elders because we knew if we DISRESPECTED any grown-up we would get our behinds whipped, it wasn't called abuse, it was called discipline!

We held doors, carried groceries, and gave up our seat for an older person without being asked.

You didn't hear curse words on the radio in songs or TV, and if you cursed and got caught you had a bar of soap stuck in your mouth, and had to stand in the corner. 🧼

“Please, Thank you, yes please no thank you yes ma'am no ma'am yes sir, and no sir were part of our daily vocabulary!

You grew up to respect the Nation, the flag and what they stood for. 🇺🇲🇺🇲

Re-post if you're for your childhood, and will never forget where you came from & the time you came from.

Please, Just Be Kind
Please, today remember to be kind. Remember to think before you speak. You never know what people are going through. That guy speeding on the highway who cut you off might just be rushing his pregnant wife to the hospital. That barista who messed up your drink might have just heard the soul-crushing news that her grandfather is dying. There’s a chance that your professor isn’t trying to ruin your life with deadlines, he might just be doing his job. You never know what people are going through.
Please, treat people like humans. In a world where most of our interactions happen from behind a screen, it is so easy to treat people like robots. Please, remember there is someone on the other side of the screen. The guy you ghosted deserves an explanation. He might be struggling with his worth, and now he’s left wondering what he did to drive you away when you really just weren’t interested. The sales lady you snapped at over the phone is just doing her job. Your parents just miss you and they’re not trying to be annoying.
Please, give people the benefit of the doubt. Think about where they are coming from. Have empathy. Sometimes people say dumb, rude things. It can be hard not to snap at these remarks. When your aunt merely suggests you lose 10 pounds, understand that she is just projecting her insecurities on you. When your coworker comments on what you’re eating, try to remember she may be struggling with her own habits. We tend to think that people are victimizing us, but their remarks may be coming from issues they are struggling with. Please, show them the kindness and empathy they may be struggling to show themselves.
Please, be kind to yourself. If a friend came to you with a problem, you might give them advice and tell them they are doing great. “You’re trying your best,” you would say. “You are making such amazing progress!” Yet when we look at ourselves, all we can think is, “You don’t do enough. You aren’t perfect. You can do better.” What if we treated ourselves like a friend? What if we spoke to ourselves like a friend? Please, just be kind to yourself. Build yourself up. Give yourself time and the care you need to feel full. Go after the things that make you happy. Speak to yourself with kindness.
Please, remember that small things have big impacts. Pay for the coffee order behind you in line. Hold doors open for people. Give compliments. Write letters. Be there to listen or to give advice if asked. Donate old clothes. Smile at strangers. Ask friends how they are doing. Make plans with the friend you haven’t heard from in a while. Practice self-care.
What if we defaulted to kindness? What if we valued kindness as it should be valued? At the end of your life, you will not be remembered for how many hours you worked. No one will be at your funeral tearing up over how much money you made. People will not be touched by how pretty you were, how expensive your car was, or how much weight you were able to lose on that diet. They will be touched by your actions. They will be touched by the kindness you show on a daily basis. People will remember how you showed up and loved them with every square inch of your heart. It all starts with a choice to default to kindness over judgement. It is a choice you have to make every day. It is not an easy choice, and it takes practice, but it is an important one.
Please, just be kind.

My Dicky Ray shared this so I had to share it also! Cameron was a link in our family circle that was broken way to soon, he was one of a kind, as I’m sure you have all seen & read my posts about him over the past 3 years! I still can’t wrap my head around it & I have to say the pain is still so raw, I had no idea that a persons heart could hurt so much and there eyes shed so many tears... but this has been me & our family, not a day goes by that we don’t talk about him or we are reminded of him in one way or another here at the shop with all the things he worked to help put in place!!! He really made a difference here with all his ideas, his will power to move forward & push if need be, we would always say when we were slammed.. “ it’s crunch time” & he always made sure that we got done what needed to he done even if it was working through the night! Team player for sure!
I miss you Cameron Lee more than words can express & I know without a doubt you are watching over us.. you truly made a difference here and everywhere you went and taught us all how to
Live,Love & Laugh... ♾❤️💋

It has already been a year..... Tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of the 1 October massacre and on that day we lost someone very dear to us, Cameron Robinson. I went back into messanger history and was reading some of the last convo we had and I wanted to share one of the messages Cameron sent me with this picture attached to it. I miss you buddy, not a day goes by where I don't think of you! I love you!

This is the message from Cameron:
Hey! Hope you are doing well. This memory is 8 years old! Gosh how life changes and time flys. I just wanted to let you know that I think of you often. While I know we’re not close like we used to be and probably never will be again, I just want you to know that I love you always have and always will. You opened my eyes to the world good and bad but all of it made me who I am today and I have you to thank for that. You and your family have been one of the best blessings I have ever gotten. So thank you for bringing me into it. Anyways hope you are feeling well. Take care of yourself. Oh and pray that this orange umpa loompa gets impeached soon! One a frikin fool I can’t believe people are still mindlessly following him. 🙄🙄🙄 Love ya! -cam

We love each & every single client!
Family & friends are very near and dear to ones heart and we are thankful that God has chosen us to create beautiful flowers for any & all occasions!! We always treat our clients as we would want to be treated & more!!! To have your Grandma and her turning 100 is a huge occasion,
Thank you for allowing us to be a part of it! We will never forget ❤️❤️❤️

Due to Covid19, we were unable to visit my grandmother for her 100th birthday. I called a few other florists in Vegas and was told by each of them to pick something from their websites. But I wanted something special for the big day, not just a vase of boring roses. I spoke with Debbie and asked her if she'd help me create something unique. Debbie went above and beyond and created a beautiful arrangement for my grandmother. Thank you for your amazing customer service!

Thank you ❤️

Easter could not be complete without me going to Boulder City cemetery and placing flowers on their resting places. It was Saturday night & dark but I was determined & I did it!These 3 people played a huge part in who I am today with my faith and they taught me Gods word and how to be a godly woman & love him with all of my heart ❤️.
Pastor Jim & Pastor K would pray without ceasing for all of us, my husband being one of them & I am forever grateful. God is the center of our home & I am forever grateful for their unconditional love & support & the Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness & self control that they instilled in their flock...
Grandma Bernice was our babysitter for Danei & Dicky & she was the best... She taught them to love Jesus❤️❤️❤️❤️
I am forever grateful in my heart...
Until we meet again❤️❤️❤️
