a eclectic collection of handmade, including locally grown dried flowers and wreaths and textile art baskets...with a smattering of collectibles and the occasional antique find. Located in Northern New York, the local land is rich with nature. It is this natural world that has the greatest influence in the handmade items offered for sale in the shop. The Keepers House name came because of the owne
r/artisan's connection to the local lighthouse. Even though they are no longer lighthouse keepers, the name has stuck and continues to serve the shop well. Think of it now, as things worth keeping...or baskets to keep things in. Owner/artisan, Linda Stoddard-Leonard is a professional floral designer by trade with a degree in philosophy, bringing that sense of color and thought of design to everything she makes. The local shop is an eclectic mix of vintage and handmade. It has carried everything from soap to woodworking to fresh local flowers. The textile art baskets created by Linda are a specialty and she has been making and selling textile art baskets for over 17 years. Selling and sending thousands of them all over the world. An avid gardener, most of wreaths are created from locally grown or gathered materials. With leanings more toward the primitive and the organic, the wreaths are an expression of the natural world. The shop has evolved over its 20 years in operation and most recently is going back to its original roots, gardening , local foraging and designing. Rather than managing an abundance of consignment items and maintaining a physical shop, Linda has now gone entirely to on -line sales. Visit Thekeepershouse @ Etsy. com
