Once you drive through the stone pillars at the gated entrance, you know you've arrived at a very special place. With two barns on the left and the main home at the end of the circular driveway, Thornhill Farm is truly one of a kind. The views across the fields with the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance are spectacular. Set on over 60 acres there is a trail to the top of the mountain, a pond to
fish in and a porch to rock on. You'll feel right at home when you see the rocking chairs on the front porch. The door leads into the main great room that has a stone fireplace reaching to the vaulted ceiling. A few steps up and you enter the living room paneled with original pine. The warmth in this room is inviting. For indoor dining you'll find a dining area with a table that can seat 8 - 10 comfortably. The kitchen cupboard is filled with English stoneware and linens for your use in serving and dining. There is an en-suite master bedroom and a guest bedroom and bath on the first floor. Upstairs there is an en-suite bedroom and bath and an additional twin bedroom. (Better photos to be added soon.) The home sleeps 8 comfortably. You'll find a country kitchen on the first floor with a microwave and Kurig coffee maker. Out of the front door is a stone patio for cocktailing and dining and watching the sunset over the mountains. Off of the great room is a wrap-around porch for dining or sitting in the rocking chairs. Here you'll enjoy the views of the farm across the fields to the pond and barns beyond. This home is great for an extended family with kids or a couples' get-a-way. Just a short drive to the town of Hendersonville, Pisgah National Forest, the horse barns, the Asheville airport, the apple orchards and all that the area has to offer.
