Here are a couple of photos from last Saturday. I was at my studio when the tornado passed. I was outside and it was calm, then the wind picked up a little and I heard the sound of a waterfall or loud engines coming from the west when normally the train sound comes from the north. I realized that is the sound people say they hear when a tornado is near. I rushed inside to make sure I had a straight shot to the bathroom (the only room in my studio without a window). Then the power went out, and I went back to the studio door to look outside. I heard the sound of a mighty wind and rain was coming down hard. As I stood by the entry door to my studio, I couldn't see much of anything because of the hard rain, but I was listening for things hitting the building or the sound of the building creaking or popping which would be my call to dash to the bathroom again but it never happened and after 30 seconds it was all over, there was just a steady rain, and then it got quiet and calm again. It was awesome, and we are so grateful that our place was not damaged.
These 2 photos were taken after the tornado passed. As you can see, there was still plenty of lightning in the area. The red lights you see in the second photo are reflecting off of the buildings along Main Street which is where the tornado made its path. We were just 6 buildings away. Most of the buildings on the south side of Main Street suffered little damage.
