ok here’s the deal. i posted earlier about the elderly woman contacted me- random- i assume she got my name
from a volunteer list. she lives right below Lake lure in a neighborhood called She needs help with cleanup. If anyone is willing to help please message me. It sounds like she needs wet, max chainsaw, and shovels. Also, there is a portion of the community bridge on her house again, if you were willing to help, that would be great. I have called numerous charities and you can’t seem to get in touch with anyone. Thank you so much.

Good afternoon- An elderly lady contacted me yesterday- not sure where she got my name. She lives near Lake
Lure on Highway 74. 12 Mile Post (?) Part of a bridge is in her yard, still 2+ inches of muck in her house and is asking for help. I would like to help her. She needs ManPower to help with cleanup but Im not sure where to start. Again, I dont know where she got my number and am ill equipped to organize. Please help me help her. I have her full name and address and will share as necessary.

If we dont get organized, NOW the amazing volunteers from all over the country are out-a-here on there way to Florida. Then where will we be. POV- we are mountain born and bred, we are neighbor to neighbor, stranger to stranger, volunteer to volunteer we are NOT people to government. Watch FEMA- where will they be on Friday ?

i wish to God someone with experience could step in and help organize
the unbelievable volunteers that are waiting in parking lots, sides of roads, parks, anywhere they can with their utility trucks, dump trucks. tractors, bulldozers etc…
these men and
women have traveled to help in this chaotic time.
the volunteers calling into the radio station wwnc begging to help.. whether it’s city,
county, state, federal…
something is NOT right.

FOUND in middle of Green River Road.. Small dog ?? may be a shih Tzu- Extremely thin and matted has had first of perhaps 3 more baths, but adorable. He had a green double collar but no name or chip. Bathed, brushed and dried, fed and is playing with Schroeder. OMG- where is he going to sleep ?

Thank you thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. We are all safe and sound have power, water, and have just gotten cell/internet. Trying to round up our furniture etc. around the lake. Gathered quite a bit. This is how we measured the water level. Thank you McCanlesss'
