This stuff should never happen at The Rock Barn or any venue for that matter. I know this can be fixed and no real damage is done, but that is not my point. There is no reason people should mess with items in our barn. We love sharing the history with everyone. This piano is out of the Masons building here in Henrietta. Dorothy Edwards learned to play the piano on this one when she was a little girl. The piano was in very good condition when we got it. Since being placed in The Barn, many keys have been pulled off and lost as well as other things. So I ask again. Just stop!

Tonight was a wedding reception for Edgar and Brooke. A huge shout out to Ginger and Missy with Southern Gals who stepped up and decorated for the event since I was in the hospital. As usual they did a great job. Everything was beautiful! Thank you ladies.

It has been a busy week at The Rock Barn. Lots of meetings with brides to book dates or to look at decor and dream about possibilities. Every one of the brides has been such a pleasure to visit and plan with together. Kindness is becoming harder to find so when I see it in the young ladies I get to work with, it is treasured. Thank you sweet brides for making this week a joy.

One of my favorite annual events held at The Rock Barn was held tonight. An amazing event to benefit Peyton’s Project. The money raised goes toward rattlesnake awareness and providing anti venom to local area hospitals. If you are looking for a worthy organization to give to, this is it. Great organization and great people who have become great friends. ❤️

I have recently learned that events at The Rock Barn are not following the rules regarding alcohol and bartenders. We require bartenders for a reason. A licensed bartender is required to be at bar area constantly during the event. A family member with a TABC license can not be the designated bartender if they are participating in wedding activities. Even if event is BYOB, all alcohol is checked in with the bartender and redispensed at the bartender’s discretion. For all future events I will need copies of TABC license, and we will be randomly checking to make sure rules are being followed. If we find that rules are not being followed, the event will be shut down immediately!

I don’t want to be the bad guy. I just want people who rent my building to do what they agree to do or take their event somewhere else.

I have trouble typing and focusing since my stroke and simply thought you could look at my previous comment as long as you knew the prices hadn’t changed. Getting ready for the week after Christmas. Very excited that we will be having three weddings in a six day span. Ginger and Missy (Southern Gals) and I are working and planning together to make sure everything will go smoothly. It’s going to be fun, and will be a great jumpstart into 2024. Check back for pictures of each one!! And call to schedule your event. It looks like it is going to be a really busy year.

While cleaning the men’s restroom sink after an event at The Rock Barn, I found shoe prints in the sink. Why? Why would someone need to stand in a restroom sink?

I never know what I am going to find after an event…broken chairs, missing remotes for the lights, and more. Be respectful people. We love sharing The Barn and its treasures with you, but we get very frustrated when things are abused. Understanding more and more why venues are usually just empty buildings.

I know it’s a long shot, but can anyone tell me if this mirror Is from Alcorns or John’s Dry goods here in henrietta? We bought this years ago and just put it in the Bride’s room dressing area. I would love to know where it was originally.

Clay County Memorial Hospital’s 5th annual Lifeline Gala was tonight. Ginger and all the other ladies that helped her decorate made sure every detail was perfect. Very pretty.
