THIS is the WHY behind Angie Makes It Happen! I left this graduation party Saturday night with tears of joy stinging my eyes, a deep sense of satisfaction, and confirmation that this is an important service that I need to continue to offer!

Back in December I donated an event coordination package to the Social Collectives Christmas Tea auction to benefit A Place to Be. My friend Viki had the winning bid and said she wanted to use it for her twins’ graduation party.

It was a fantastic event! Viki and her family planned a great party complete with a stage and open mic opportunities for the (100-150) attendees to sing and play music throughout the day.

The best part? Viki and her husband got to visit with their guests and be fully present at this special event knowing that I was taking care of everything for them! 🥳

I monitored and refilled the buffet and beverages, directed guests to the bathroom and gift tables, emptied the trash and cleaned up as I went along to try to minimize their cleanup at the end of the night.

I kept busy all evening and loved every minute of it! The satisfaction of knowing that Viki and John were relaxing and having a great time has kept my heart full ever since!

Depending on your personality, planning a party is either super fun, super stressful or both.

Are you team "Who Doesn't Love a Good Party?" or "Oh NO! I have to host a party. What now??"

Here are some tips to keep in mind no matter how party planning makes you feel:
1. Keep it simple! - Don't stress about every detail. Way too often the little things we stress about the most (and often cost the most) go completely unnoticed by your guests, who really just want to spend time with you.
2. Enlist help - whether you hire someone like me or recruit some friends, having extra helping hands frees you up to actually enjoy your event! Doing it all yourself is overrated! (Trust me, I know first hand! Recovering "I got this!" girl here 🤷‍♀️!)
3. Keep the menu simple.
4. Picking a theme can help pull it all together from food and decorations to helping answer the inevitable questions like what can I bring and what should I wear.
5. You CAN have an amazing, memorable event without breaking the bank or taking out a second mortgage! Remember tip #1? Keep it simple! You can find fun and elegant touches that don't have to blow the budget!

What’s your favorite part of any event or party?

My favorite part is watching people from different areas of my life - work, church, neighborhood, Jazzercise - come together and get to know one another, laughing, playing games and talking.

I love it when they feel comfortable enough to start joking and ribbing each other, sharing stories and creating new memories.

I especially love that they look forward to seeing each other at our annual parties even if they don’t socialize in between!
