The heart of a small business π
Tonight while I was grocery shopping alone {which NEVER happens} I got a notification that I had an order from our online boutique. We get orders very regularly, but every single one ALWAYS is so appreciated. Because I was alone and could actually think straight it really hit me - I wonder if people realize how much this means. I looked at my cart...groceries, birthday supplies for my little soon to be 5 year old, a new jacket for my 16 month old, and it hit me. They don't realize, in a way they are paying for this. I will never deny that my husband has an AMAZING job. Great pay, benefits, etc. That being said - overhead on a brick and mortar is high. Utilities, insurance, marketing, and the storefront in a prime location. It's a lot - which is GREAT because there is pressure to succeed. It keeps me on my toes, makes me keep my fire lit, and gives me a platform in the community. Every π single π order is appreciated. Every single customer who walks in my doors. Every prom shopper, regular, one time buyer. Every person who likes, shares, and tells their friends about my business. You help a young mama to 3 little ones really succeed at a big big dream.
Ladies - if your hands are full and you're tired but your dream is in your heart - you can do it. There is an amazing community out there who will support you just like they do for me! So here is this unfiltered, messy, blurry pic of me as I am 90% of the time. Hands full, hair up, surrounded by my 1, 4, and 6 year old. Messy counter, wild kids, clingy babe. I did not plan on sharing this but THIS is who is behind this business - not the girl with her stuff together posing in front of the floral wall. That's the dreamer in me, and this is every day me. πI am thankful from the bottom of my heart for my customers!!
