We had Hailey and Cynthia help out our good friends at Savory Kitchen with a wedding in Dallas NC this past Friday- it was a beautiful venue with some pretty awesome gardens on location!! We received much praise for their hard work… and are so happy to be able to have a team so wonderful and hard working!!! Great job ladies!! And thanks for the continued use of R&B Derek… glad we were able to help again!!

Well… I helped a new client with their wedding reception tonight— not bartending …or serving or catering… but basically coordinating everything- I set up all the tables and decorations…led people to their seats, set out the dessert, welcome and snacks table, and basically made sure everything went as it should- it was a great evening!!! Thanks so much Rosalia for the call— and congrats!!

I finished off this crazy weekend helping a new client by bartending his daughter’s Half Saree ceremony in Concord It was a truly wonderful event… and I made a lot of cocktails and mocktails!! I also helped clean the room when I could and emptied the garbages… all the while making sure everyone was taken care of at the bar. Everything went great and I made some new friends!! Ok All… I know I usually post pretty simple drink recipes… however today’s suggestion is a little detailed and time consuming— however its called the Baby Girl and is in celebration of our new granddaughter Stevie!!!

You will need:

A blender/ smoothie maker.
6 glasses worth of crushed ice.
6 slices of lime to garnish
6 pretty straws… (optional, they can actually be as plain as you like)
a little Demerara sugar for garnish
for the lime section

150ml (or 6 shots) of white rum
150ml of lime juice
100ml hot water
6tbs demorara sugar
400 ml cloudy lemonade
a couple of tsp of green food colouring (optional but makes the colours in the drink stand out better)
For The Raspberry Section

150ml (or 6 shots) of coconut rum
200g frozen raspberries
400ml Cloudy Lemonade


Method

1.Begin by refrigerating your glasses, so they are nice and cold and don’t melt your crushed ice when you add it later.

2.Make the lime section of the drink by mixing together the 100ml hot water and Demerara and stirring until dissolved. Use the blender to thoroughly mix the rest of the lime ingredients together- don’t use a cocktail shaker otherwise the lemonade might spill over. Pop the drink into a separate container (preferably a pitcher)- eventually the foamy head will disappear and you’ll be left with a nice clear, green liquid.

It’s nearly party time…
3. Now make the raspberry section by blending together the raspberry ingredients. Again, be careful not to let the lemonade fizz over. Either allow the seeds to settle and carefuly pour the drink into another container (being careful not to let any of the seeds find their way into the new pitcher) or simply pour it through a sieve to remove these nasty bits.

4. When you’re ready to drink wipe a little lime around the edges of your glass, and dip the edge in Demerara sugar to give your glass a sparkly edge.

5.Fill your glasses with crushed ice and half fill with lime mix. Then, slowly pour in the raspberry mix onto the ice. Pouring slowly should help to stop the colours mixing too much.

6. If it has worked, you should have a glowing hint of bright green at the bottom of your pink drink- it should taste a little bit sweet, a little sour and very tropical and fruity. Add your slice of lime and straw, and enjoy!!!

It was a huge day yesterday—- we helped new clients with their wedding… at Amity Creek Farms in Granite Falls. A very quaint and lovely venue- set back in the woods. Shery, Aiden and I set up the buffet station, set up the bar, kept the food cold and stocked, cleared tables, rinsed the rentals and help pack everything up at the end. Everything went smoothly and our team received multiple thanks and praises for a job well done— all this while my daughter was in the hospital in labor!
We also had Michael helping out our friends at savory kitchen with some bartending for a wedding in Purlear- which also went amazing Michael poured beer and wine and kept everything going as it should.. all in all a great day!!!

Today was supposed to be a day to get things done around the house- Beth and I had a list…
I get a phone call at 1….
Hi Rich… I got your name as a reference from a friend… wondering if you can work an event for me… sure I said…. When is it? TONIGHT He says…. Oh myyyyyyy - so much for work around the house!!!! Regardless… it was an amazing evening in Harrisburg…. I bartended for roughly 75 people outside a private residence….
All went very well and I’m glad!!!! Thanks Pavan for the call… glad we were able to help!!!

R&B had quite the day today. We catered for over 200ppl for lunch in Hickory & prepped for 75person lunch tomorrow.

Another busy weekend… but in NY this time!!! While Beth and I were helping at the ELKS with a fantastic Luau.. we had a bunch going on up north… Friday we Lori, Kim, James & Emma helping our firefighter friends with their annual parade… bartending and helping with the food… making sure all stayed stocked and neat. Saturday, James was at it again with Kelly helping a great client of ours with a Hibachi party… making drinks, clearing dishes and glasses and cleaning everything … Also on Saturday we had Zavain, Demitrius, Vanessa and Terrill bartending at a wedding at the Bedford Historical building for 140 people!!!! Such fantastic teams and wonderful reviews… thank you all so much for the hard work… and thanks to all our clients who continue to count on us to make sure their special days go as well as can be!!!!

I helped a new client tonight in Charlotte at the Mint Museum … with a pre - wedding party … for family and friends to get to know each other before the wedding on Saturday. It was about 45 people, the bar and the food was simple- and guests were able to visit the museum and view the art… which was super cool. Along with bartending I helped keep the food stocked and clean, cleared tables and trash and brought drinks to guests that were mingling and sitting. It was a fun night and everything went tremendously- thanks Margaret for the call!!!

To complete this weekend, R&B helped new clients and friends with their wedding at Cedar Creek Ranch in Waxhaw. We were charged with bartending and setup- and keeping everything running smooth- and let me tell you it was no small feat!! Tom, Sarah, Kaitlyn, Sheryl and myself set up the buffet station for 140 people, set up the appetizer station for cocktail hour, set up the dessert station, kept the buffet stocked during dinner, cleared tables emptied garbages and bartended!!! We also helped load everything left over into a Uhaul truck at the end of the event. I have to give credit- this team was absolutely astonishing. The food was Japanese cuisine from a local restaraunt- and there was a LOT of it!!! We had to set up a 2nd station outside in a shed to keep the backup food warm, and stock the buffet line as needed- everything went amazing, and Beth and I are extremely lucky to have such dedicated team members- I was so proud at the end of the evening when the bride specifically mentioned how hard we worked and how everyone noticed!! Such a great job team… I can’t say it enough!! And congrats Kelly and Dustin!!

R&B was at it again yesterday, helping our friend Derek Terry & Savory House Kitchen work a wedding in Weaverville- at Junebug venue. Sheryl, Lucy, Hailey and myself passed appetizers, helped plate the food- served the plated meals and cleared the tables.. all for about 65 people— it was a wonderful wedding and a beautiful day… the weather was perfect, and you could hear the cicadas in the background.. a constant humming the entire day!!! Great job Ms Tammy!! And thanks for the call Derek!!
