Our 46th Annual Higginsville Country Fair has come to an end.

Country Fair is like a very large puzzle. Each piece represents an event, sponsorships, donations, volunteers, in-kind services and so much more. Each piece is vital in the success of Country Fair. Without one piece, the puzzle cannot be completed. Your volunteer Higginsville Country Fair Board of Director’s is sincerely thankful for each puzzle piece coming together in making our community-wide event a phenomenal success!

Rain…..the heck with rain! Over forty volunteers rose before dawn to begin the day of a flawless set up. Once set up, we witnessed a plethora of folks strolling up and down Main like seasoned pros wearing ponchos and sporting umbrella’s. The rain was not spoiling their Country Fair day! As the day continued, we experienced a few stray showers, but events continued! Finally….the skies cleared and our parade was ON! What a day. Seventy vendors that have signed up for next year. We received so many compliments of how efficient the vendor set up is, and how much the volunteers are appreciated. Many of them have been with us for over ten years.

An event this size is reliant on so many entities, funding and volunteers. It is important that each one know how important they are. I’ve tried my best to keep an ongoing thank you. If you sponsored, donated or volunteered, please let me know. You are valued. I want to make sure to add you to our list.

We are extremely grateful for the in-kind support from the City of Higginsville (all departments) for their assistance in Country Fair’s success.
Sincere thanks to Storage Spot Rentals for providing storage for Country Fair.
Sincere thanks to Jessica Johnson of Pure Life Photography for designing and preparing the Country Fair website and promotional materials.

Joy Riker
Joy is the wife to one of our featured performers Stephen Riker of RIKER. Joy is a singer/songwriter/guitar player and she plays a funny mouth trumpet! Joy sings from her heart and hopes to inspire and encourage anyone she can.

Discord & Rhyme
Friends for over 30 years, and bandmates off and on throughout, Mike Doss and Lonny Goodwin had talked for years about doing an acoustic cover duo. Well…they’ve done it!! And you know what? They’re pretty good at it! Covering a plethora of favorites from the 60’s through today….From The Beatles to 70’s soft rock, 80’s pop to current hits, etc!

RIKER
The Boys are Back in Town!!! Twin brothers Seth and Stephen Riker have been performing together for over twenty years. Many of you will remember their first appearance in Higginsville when they were just 13 years old (several years ago) with their father Steve Riker. Steve is a former member of the classic rock band Head East. Together, they performed for our 4th of July event. Seth and Stephen are accomplished musicians and vocalists. Along with playing familiar hits, this dynamic duo set lists includes original songs as well as a few beloved Head East tunes.
