So many of you lovely people have been asking us to do a floral design class since we opened... We're happy to announce our first ever floral design workshop!

Join us at the shop on Wednesday, October 29th from 6:30pm - 8:15pm for a cozy crafting session and learn how to create your own pretty lil' pumpkin! A fan favorite arrangement on our website, these makes the perfect gift, centerpiece or porch pumpkin! 🎃🍂🌻🍁

Participants will receive one prepped pumpkin, a block of floral foam, fresh fall florals, access to our floral sprays and decorative accents. And best of all, snacks and refreshments!
All necessary tools will be provided for this activity.

Wow. I cannot believe the weekend that we just had here at the shop.
Over the course of Saturday and Sunday we had three weddings and a baby shower, as well as Bishop Knoll homecoming. Every weekend at the shop is starting to feel like this. Nonstop, phones ringing off the hook, lines forming at the front counter, dozens of deliveries, and so many flowers for beautiful life milestones.

This weekend was special to me. I had the chance to create wedding florals for a lovely bride and groom at my dream venue, Meyer's Castle. Ever since I became a floral designer i've always wanted to do a wedding there- it is such a breathtaking location. Late on Friday night while putting the finishing touches on this wedding, the realization hit me that I am living my dream. I couldn't help but tear up a little.
It is truly such a privelege to be trusted with creating flowers for these events.. it's a lot of pressure to get these things perfect.
Thank you to all of our wonderful clients who trust us to realize their floral wishes.

I am always so grateful that my community has been so encouraging of my dream.. when I started Golden Afternoon, it was because I wanted a way to parlay my love for creating art into a profession to sustain myself, as well as to bring a business to NWI that genuinely cared about the people who walked through its doors, and wanted to provide exemplary customer service as well as beautiful gifts.

I wasn't prepared for GA to reach the success that it has in recent months...
I guess this is the way things naturally go when you have genuine enthusiasm for your job, and want to provide the best service/product that you possibly can.
For every arrangement or gift bag I create, my number one rule is that nothing leaves the store that I wouldn't want my own grandmother to receive.

Little dragon baby shower 💙🌟💚✨️

This past Saturday, amidst all of the homecoming orders for Highland's dance, we had the pleasure of creating these whimsical, absolutely darling centerpieces for a baby shower at our favorite venue, The Atlas Room in Griffith! Their theme was "a little dragon is on the way"

These were so much fun to make!
We drew inspiration from the dragon theme, using Iridescent vases to match shimmering scales, adding florals like hanging amaranthus that mimicked the appearance of a dragon tail, as well as peach roses, thistle and chrysanthemums to match the color palette of the invitations. We used traditional baby shower florals, baby's breath and carnations to add some softness to the floral scheme, and added custom dragon egg floral picks to tie the look all together!

Join us for an Autumn Afternoon Tea in the Golden Afternoon! 🍁🍂🫖

So many of you have suggested us holding tea parties in our store, and we are so happy to announce that you will soon be able to sip and dine here in the whimsical ambience of our flower shop! ☕️

This event will be hosted by the lovely Rhonda of Tiffany's Tea Room & Sip Coffee House 2 on October 12, from 12pm-2pm.

Enjoy a premium hot tea selection as well as eats and desserts! 🍇🍐
Eats will consist of an initial presentation of scones, devonshire creams, and fine finger sandwiches, served alongside fresh fruit, and then a follow up serving of delicious desserts!

We're so excited to welcome back our special guest from last year's Christmas Open House- the man, the myth, the legend, Santa Claus!
Mr. Claus will be at Golden Afternoon from 12-2 on Saturday, so all of you kiddos can meet him and share your Christmas wishes! 🎁

Along with wonderful giveaways, will also have freshly baked cookies, lots of free samples, sweets and sips for everyone who visits during the open house. ❄️

We are honored to be the official florist for Highland High School as well as the favored florist of the HHS staff and students.

Hometown pride has helped our small business continue to grow! We are so grateful for our community.

Along with the honor of providing the carnations for HHS's carnation sale fundraiser, we also had a group of students ask if they could decorate our storefront windows to promote the Highland Homecoming Parade taking place in the Downtown this evening- and ofcourse we approved!

The young people of our community will be our future councilmen and women, the future town workers, the future first responders, the future moms and dads that take our lovely town into the 2030s.
..When those days come, we'll be here to welcome them through our doors.

We are still taking Homecoming orders for this Saturday's dance. Stop by today after the HHS Homecoming parade!
